Man that color looks great on all them body lines and that was a good call on the tires. The smaller whitewall looks a lot better, the big whitewalls remind too much of the cars from the '50's. Cant wait to see this one come together, keep up the good work.

That is fricken awesome, it reminds me a lot of the rides in Mad Max. The coolest thing to me though is how you give a play-by-play on what youre doing as youre doing it on the vids, its no wonder why you go by Doctor! I would have paint everywhere but where it needed to be on the car, cant wait to see this bad boy done.

shatteredsoul76 replied to shatteredsoul76's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks again Slant, I just ordered a AMT '69 GTX hardtop. I plan on using the 440 and chassis on the Bee and the Bee chassis and big motor and make the GTX pro street. -

Fathers Day 70 Superbee build
shatteredsoul76 replied to shatteredsoul76's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for all the input so far guys. Im still looking at pictures for reference and Ill probably have to talk to my mom for more details since this will be a surprise for my dad. Im also looking at all the models mentioned that have the old school Cragars slim/fat and the '70 Baldwin Camaro is starting to look really good since I wouldnt mind building one of them anyway and just use some modern wheels on it. Slant, do you know how much difference there is from the AMT 69 GTX and the Revell 71 GTX 440 6 pack, I already have one of those kits. Mike, thanks for the link on Modelhaus, I wish they had more pictures for thier products though. -
ATTENTION ALL MODELERS OF MCM

Happy B-Day, hopefully you got lots of modelling goodies. -
I plan on building a 70 Superbee and giving it to my dad on Fathers day as he had one years ago and is very fond of them to say the least. The bad thing is I never seen the car as it was long gone before I came along but I grew up hearing all about it. Im still looking through builds here as well as some pictures from all over the web and Ive yet to find anything that would be close. It will be white, black interior, 440 six pack, 4-speed, pistol grip shifter, and with Cragar wheels. I current have the 70 coronet pro street but Im also looking at other Superbee kits. If I use the kit I have then I have to get the 440, Cragars as well as the regular hood. Also I am looking for kits that have the slim/fat Cragar wheels and right now Im leaning toward the 70 1/2 Baldwin Motion Camaro but I really hate to buy a whole kit for the wheels. Im open to tips as well as some suggestions from some of you guys that have built a Superbee.

What are these models worth?
shatteredsoul76 replied to shatteredsoul76's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree with you Robert, I would rather buy a bunch at a time instead of just one, it seems like you get a much better deal. I will probably go back and get everything else the guy has left since he said he would give me another good deal. By the way the wife came home and just laughed, she said Ive lost my mind, of course she hasnt seen some of you guys on heres stash! -

Well I met the guy and picked the models, I think I got one heck of a deal and he still has some I may go back to buy. All of them are sealded except one of the Corvettes, the Thunderbolt, the Chevette, the Squad rod(which has an extra Nova body), the turbo Mustang(in plain white box)which has some extra parts. Im a happy camper right now, of course my wife probably wont be when she comes home and sees them all. In total Ive bought 21 in the past 2 weeks , oh well its better to ask for forgiveness instead of permission right. -
I have to make up my mind before Friday on whether I want to pick up the models listed below, and I dont have a clue what they are worth? A few of them Im not really interested in such as the Revellution funny car so I may work it out of the deal for a better price, thanks. '79 Jukebox Ford Van sealed MPC ’80 Sunrunner Ford Van sealed MPC ’78 Chevette Rallye w/ extra parts MPC Squad Rod Nova police..missing light bar MPC Turbo Cobra Mustang..not orig. box..extra parts MPC 1/16 Limited Edition Revellution Funny Car With COF Revell Russ Davis Ford Thuderbolt Revell (2) ’67 427 Corvette sealed Revell Shelby Cobra 427 sealed Revell ’66 Nova Street Machine sealed AMT ’70 Coronet Pro Street sealed AMT

man i hate moving
shatteredsoul76 replied to Lownslow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good luck with the move, I hate moving as well even if its across town or a few states away. I never could decide if packing or un-packing is worse, then again I guess they are about the same. -

Dick Harrell` s Camaro F/C
shatteredsoul76 replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Awesome job on the model! I seen this car last year at the hot rod reunion in Bowling green, KY. They had it fired up in the picture below, it was beyond loud. Bruce Larsons car was also there... http://i552.photobucket.com/albums/jj358/jakemilburn/Bowling%20Green%20KY/DSCF1505.jpg My wife and I have went to this event for the past couple of years so I have several pictures of some awesome old ,as well as new, rides that Im currently sifting through to add to photobucket. I plan on adding a link to the album when Im done here for the 1:1 reference pics. -

shatteredsoul76 replied to seeker589's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just wanted to make sure, I will have to see how much extra cash I will have this week after putting back for upcoming bills. Hopefully I can take some of them off of your hands. -

Expired paint?
shatteredsoul76 replied to shatteredsoul76's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for all the input once again guys you have helped me out lots. The guy said that he checked every bottle to make sure that they mixed well and threw out what was obviously bad, so Im gonna go ahead and try to pick them up. -
Expired paint?
shatteredsoul76 replied to shatteredsoul76's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for your help Rebel, I still may pick these up if I can get them cheap enough. -
Can someone tell me as a general rule of thumb how long will paint be ok before its no good and cant be used? It seems like the way its stored as well as the caps being on tight would have a lot to do with it but even if its stored in ideal situations could it still go bad? Also Im pretty sure they are most if not all enamels if that factors in as well. The reason why I ask is I have a chance to buy a good amount of used paints for a decent price but I dont want waste my money if they expire say after 5 years for example. Thanks for any and all advice, by the way this forum is by far the best when it comes to models but it makes my eyes hurt from all the reading!

Good call on using the Simpson decals they look great and will make the car a lot more believable. I cant wait to see this one finished!

Thanks for the input Charlie it helps shed some light for me on paint types and brands as well as some needed tools. I have ordered some sprue cutters, a set of 5 hobby tweezers, a couple of clamps, and 9 model cars, so I have enough models for a good start on my stash. I am also going to pick up some more paints along with primer and some more small tools. I think Ill see what Lowes has to offer in the way of small tools before I drive all the way to Sears which is at least 30 miles one way. Thanks again for everyones input, you guys have been a HUGE help. I hope to start some on the bench updates really soon.

To me its the joy of seeing nice cars, trucks ,etc that I will never own unless I win the lottery regardless of BJ business politics and I have to say that I enjoy all thier shows and will continue to watch everyone I can. Maybe Im missing something about BJ other than the obvious of making lots of money?
