  1. I've been so busy helping everyone out with different projects around town on top of my full time work grind that my projects have been put on the back burner. However, I did pull the Beater Bel Air out of the box for a pic I couldn't resist. My girlfriend knows I like 1/24 scale vehicles, especially police cars and SUVs so she bought me this die-cast Tahoe done up in Chevy's PPV unveiling livery. I think this pic was worth mocking up the Bel Air for again. Haven't all of us gearheads been in this position at least once? Motor swap is finished and you can't help but sneak it out of the garage and around the block and guess who shows up?
  2. That trucking game looks like a rebranded game that runs code similar to the 18 wheels of steel series. Those were some good games. The new ones that have come out look incredible, but once again, computer can't run em. 18 wheels of steel: pedal to the metal can pretty much run on anything, that was an older one. 18wos:Haulin was when the graphics started getting more refined and complex for my system to handle. EDIT: Here's a link to 18wos:PTTM: http://www.scssoft.com/pttm.php
  3. That thing looks killer, man! The grafted pieces flow so smoothly into the rest of the body!
  4. Looks great! A model I'm working did the cracking bit on me as well, only my primer coat did it. It was really old paint, so I suspect that was the issue in my personal situation.
  5. Updates! I was getting burnt out on the Beater Bel-Air since my skills aren't up to par with what I want to build. I figured I would buy another model and slowly build it up box stock. Right after I got that model, my girlfriend got me a dremel tool! So back to the Beater Bel Air tonight. I didn't do much, just radius trimmed the rear fenders and fenderwells to clear the big Mickey Thompson Sportsmans in the back like I wanted. I also got inspiration from Mike Finnegan's '55 Gasser and figured I should probably slap a Hemi in there under the hood. So once again, more mock up pics. Also got almost all my projects together (minus the '69 Nova SS that I'm turning into a radio controlled car). From right to left (closest to furthest): My '65 Chevy pickup technique practice body, the gasser '57, my '69 GT500 (just started), and a very special Dodge Super Bee. My dad and I used to build models together all the time. The 14th marked 10 years since he passed and the Super Bee was the one we were in the middle of when it happened. It's currently just sitting in a box missing nearly all its parts. However, I do have an epic motor transplant planned for it whenever it is that I feel up to working on it. It's the Viper V10 from the Dodge Ram SS10 (or whatever they called the pre SRT10 Ram).
  6. I had to see what the factory pink looked like on the old Mustangs so I did a quick Google search. Turns out it was nearly the same shade as what I'm using. Pretty cool!
  7. I think they do have Mustang giveaways from time to time, that'd be appropriate, actually.
  8. I love model police cruisers! Looks excellent so far!
  9. And yes, that's my attempt at a radically chopped '65 Chevy cab in the background of that second color lol
  10. I've been getting kind of burnt out due to lack of ideas on how to make my mostly custom Beater Bel-Air to look right, so I'm taking a break from that project and working on this Revell '69 Shelby GT500 Convertible. It's rare that I find a can of paint and go out on the hunt for a model to paint it with, but that's how this decision came about. I had a can of light, powderpuff pink spray paint in my box of paint for several years. I dug it out and looked around for a model that would look novel in pink. I figured this would be a good candidate. First coat of paint is on, it'll need a fair amount of sanding and smoothing, however.
  11. Wow! You just inspired me to try and chop my '65 Chevy cab. I'm using it as a technique tester.
  12. Tried Spin Tires a while back and it ended up being too much for my computer to handle
  13. Good call! I'll check it out. Thanks!
  14. Started painting the flat brown accents in the interior and quickly found I do not have a very steady hand. The results look terrible, but I'll find a way to fix that later. The motor doesn't look too bad, though. Sorry for the poor quality, all I have available right now is my cell phone's camera. The block, oil pan, and intake manifold are from the Bel Air model. The carb, air cleaner, and valve covers are from the '65 pickup model
  15. Thanks for posting that. Looks like that bumper would definitely need to be modified a bit to look right
  16. For sure. He can't go full throttle until about 50 mph otherwise he'll just burn out.
  17. Aforementioned rig
  18. I like these old shoebox Novas. My buddy has a 4 door that's the ultimate sleeper. It's got rust, holes in the body, and the original 6 cylinder badges but he stuffed an LS motor from a Tahoe under the hood. The thing is wicked fast.
  19. Actually tempted to get the Revell GMC tow truck kit as well to put the '65 Chevy cab on. Then, I'd have the tow truck's beefy front brush guard to make the plow truck look more like an M1008
  20. Looking around at the pictures on my computer and I found this picture. I still have the body, but all the other pieces got taken for other projects. This body might go good on a plow truck chassis.
  21. Very cool, I love the little stretcher
