  1. Hi Guys, You may have seen the Flamed 49 Mercury I posted in "Under Glass" a little while back (Merc Here). I had a few questions on how it was done & I figured it was better to show you rather than tell you. I've finally gotten around to making a video of the process. I wasn't able to show video of the paint application (not enough hands & my painting area is a pig sty, therefore too embarrassing!) so I have stills of each step. Hope the video makes sense, please feel free to ask any questions. Enjoy!
  2. Great stuff, Doc! Love the videos, really helps paint a picture. What direction is the roller going to spin? If it runs backwards you'll have some nice chunks o gunk to fling into the windscreen louvers!! A not so neatly severed hand could look cool protruding from somewhere.... Keep fighting the good fight Doc!
  3. Just watched Death Race 2 the other day, this car is the coolest. Great job, gotta admire the dedication of you scratch building types! Glad you're around so us lazy builders get to see some cool stuff!
  4. Looking good! Nice work on the post conversion. The 69 Chevelle is one of my faves, shame the kit is a bit of a bear to build. Been tempted to do another one, but I'm once bitten twice shy!
  5. Great job, it really is a versatile kit, so many things can be done to it.
  6. Holy Hell! That's awesome.... never imagined that Satan drove a Fiat! The rust would be pretty standard for a Fiat too
  7. With that back story, you should've waited till April 1 to post! Awesome job on both counts, beautiful bodywork there.
  8. Cool! Love the pinstriping kit in the bed, nice touch!
  9. Suspension a bit low??? Nah, mate, not low enough!! Nice job, love me a VW!
  10. 3 spokes with flat gunmetal (tamiya XF56??) centres and chrome rim would be my choice. Cool build either way!
  11. Great stuff there Dr C! I struggle to get anything built, let alone all the video & pics, nice work, sir!
  12. Excellent job! It's all tied together really well, looks great!
  13. My god, John!! That is phenomenal.... Those engines are spectacular! Love the shots looking down on all the intake trumpets & exhausts, looks like an exceptionally mean sea urchin!
  14. That is awesome, great concept! Love your site too, some beautiful stuff there, very cool!
  15. Just regarding the comment about the wheels, given the style of the car, what other wheels could be better? I can't see a modern styled car like this working with anything else. Imagine it with steelies and wide whites?? Would look rubbish! You can't separate the style of wheel from the style of the build. Don't get me wrong, I favour retro style cars myself, but for this particular car, these wheels are absolutely spot on.
  16. Finally! Looks tops, Mr Vacuum Build strikes again.... Well done, a quality job AS USUAL. Guess I'll stop buying shares in Tamiya and ELO.....
  17. Very cool, not enough 4 door Pro Streeters around!
  18. Seriously?? They killed this for a Nova?? Man alive..... I've got an Olds, but the Buick would trump it!
  19. ooooh er!
  20. Wondered where this was hidden... Probly my favorite build of your's (or anyones??) Absolute gold and it looks better in the flesh. The ultimate "built in a vacuum" model! What could be next.......
  21. Awesome one of my favorite cars! Never knew there was a wagon kit, how'd you get that??
  22. Thanks once again! There's a video tutorial on the way, just need the time to get it done (too many kids and work in my way at the moment!! Need more hours!!) If anyone is interested in masks, send me a message. Ron, relief may be at hand! I'm going to set up some scallop masks at some stage (see my no time rant above....), maybe not exactly as shown in the pic, but probably close.
  23. Hi Rob, the body and engine are Tamiya. There's 2 versions of the kit, stock and racing. The race one is pretty cool, comes with triple carbs which looks the goods!
  24. That looks great! The change of wheels made a huge difference, the ones that come in the kit are rubbish! Awesome job, thumbs up!
  25. Did you say Built over the last few weeks?? Awesome quantity and quality! Well done... weathering looks great!
