Prius Model Kit - Preorders taken
Carmikeman replied to Hornistfuller's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
let's be real here guys. we are headed toward the end of modeling as we know it. just think about it for a minute. everything is going electric, our government is slowly weaning us off gasoline and making the car companies push these so-called cars on us. what started model cars in the first place? the car companies and Americas love for the automobile, right? what about racing? Dragracing, Nascar, Le-Mans and, even boat racing have fueled our passion to build what we like to build. Now, with fuel prices skyrocketing, racing companies are going to get to where they can't afford to back a dragster or a circletrack car so, there goes the models for our model cars, boats and what have you. i'm sorry but there is no way i could support a dragster with a big battery in the engine bay, with a 671 blower strapped to it and them tell me it's Supercharged also, on down the road, the Cuda, Mustang and Vette models (just some of the staples of the model world) will be discontinued and everyone will not be able to afford to pay $200 bucks for a kit because we will be paying for the national debt just the truth in my opinion. thanks guys. yeah, i think he was just refering to the kit being a unibody 1 piece kit. you are right about the years did the uni-body. my dad had a 1958 F-100 and that's what i'm looking to build, with shortbed a 223 6-cylinder from Kitchen Table Resins. -
Ben, there are a lot of great suggestions here. whatever name you pick, whether ours or your own, be sure and post what you pick. Jim

Memphis Tenn. Hobby Shops?
Carmikeman replied to samm1970's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
there is a HobbyTown in east Memphis off of I-40 and Germantown Rd. look for Bestbuy across from the Wolfechase Mall. Hobbytown is in the same parking lot behind the I-Hop. Then, there is a Michaels off the same exit. soon as u exit toward Wolfechase, take the first left toward Joe's Crabshack. Michaels is before the Crabshack. Hope this helps. -

I've been out of modeling too long. Probably could've picked an easier project to get back into it. This is a model of a truck special ordered by my dad in 1978. Going to be midnight blue. Really nothing special. Will have a 302 out of the Revell 3 window coupe kit, shortbed and grille from Blue Oval Resin. Been alot of work to get everything to this stage. Got just a little more bodywork and then primer. Don't be too hard on me fellas.
