1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
Prostreet replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thx. Chris, I'm collecting parts now for the new build. -
Man this thing is turning out unbelievable Clay, Really motivates me to get started on my new project . What do you mean by this? "lock in the resin body and keep me from having issues down the road" Should i beware when using a certain primer on resin? I never worked with resin much at all. Also what program do you use to make the chassis and print the plans?

Man Chris, love your dedication to this build. Your putting some amazing detail into it, This could possibly be the most period correct funny car model ever. Like the CAd stuff of the blower, I'm still trying to figure that stuff out lol. -
I never post this kind of stuff or post much at all in this section, But i was looking at resin on ebay and came across this Ad for turbo's. Then i read the description and was like WOW! I couldn't believe what i was reading. Holy cow. if the thread is inappropriate and get's deleted i understand. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-24-1-25-scale-resin-Garrett-turbo-GET-IT-NOW-OR-ITLL-BE-IN-TRASH-B4-15TH-/351195163200?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item51c4dcea40

What happened to Flashpoint Motorsports tires?
Prostreet replied to Adhsdad's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I heard they may come back out with them not 100% sure on that, Futurattraction has some of his own now and has front tires to. I have some of these and they are very nice, they are soft rubber compared to flashpoints which are hard. http://www.tedsmodelingmarketplace.com/pro-mod-fc-slicks-1-16/ -

Thx. Ben, i just noticed that when i was on KFS and emailed MCA, you have to go direct to them. Wanted to order some stuff from KFS but they don't accept paypal, bummer. I need to contact you for some stuff also Ben, but fotki is down right now. -
Looking for some aluminum semi wheels for a custom 359 project, I know Micro nitro use to make them but he stopped doing them for some reason. Anybody know of other places to get some? did a search and came up with nothing.

Thx. guys appreciate the kind words, Working on the inner fenders and stretching the rear quarter openings. Should have some updates this weekend.

Thx. Guys, finished the 2nd one tonight. Pretty happy with the results.

I decided to give 1/25th another shot and so far things are going good, I'm doing a 68 Dodge Charger R/T prostreet using the Revell special addition charger and the back half from the revell 67 chevelle. So far i have the chassis parts grafted together and the chevelle chassis fits this body great and i can use the rear seat also, I made a smoothed firewall and a filler for the top of it. I wanted to see if i could make a Hemi valve cover on my mill and i'm pretty happy the way it turned out, now i just need to make one more lol. This motor will most likely have a blower on it. I also wanna try to get it to sit as low as possible. I will try and update as much as possible. i will do the other valve cover next and then do some inner fenders unless i decide on a strut front suspension.

Thx. fellas, Pretty excited. My new project showed up, I worked with a 3D artist to make a 2012 and 2013 Promod camaro body, then had Tim from TDR make it printable. This is a 1/16th 2013 promod camaro, i should have something started on it this weekend. Doors don't fit totally perfect so i will have to do some work there to fill a couple tiny gaps, but other than that it looks good. -

Thx. Bill, appreciate it. I started working on the chassis now that i decided what i want to do to make it look the way i want. I all ready cut the wheel wells out for the mini tub, and i cut the back part of the frame rails for tire clearance. That part of the frame will be boxed out and there will be tubing running in between them for strength, i have seen this done on 1:1 cars before( usually on full frame cars though). I have to fill in the section where the gas tank was before i do any more cutting, still lots to remove and modify. Rain in the forecast so i should be able to get some more done lol. -

Prostreet replied to Prostreet's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Finally have a full set of wheels, Pretty happy with them. Not sure why but on my front wheels the spokes are a hair twisted from the center, Not sure if it's because of where i'm starting the spoke or if i'm taking to much off on the radius cut. Once i have the center caps made and the tires on and mounted nobody will notice, It's very slight. I'm thinking the next task is the rear end and front and rear suspension to get it on all fours. Let me know what you think good or bad, always looking for constructive feedback. -
