  1. Dam, that's bada$$ Dave.
  2. Good call on anodizing Dave, They look great.
  3. People on ebay that have item listed with best offer, you send them an offer then they counter offer only a $1 or $2 lower, really? what's the point of having a best offer.
  4. Thx. Chris, having alot of fun machining stuff.
  5. Thx Dave much appreciated, Wouldn't have got this far with out your help. I think once i get the beadlock rings on there and a tire i will like it even more.
  6. Great build, Driver- Craig Breedlove?
  7. Thx. Guys, Well i finally have a wheel center done. It didn't go as planned and that's expected since i don't have any machining experience and never used a mill, so after 2 failed attempts and some broken bits doing the centers the way i wanted i went to the 2nd design i wanted to do which is way less complicated and just a flat surface, Before this build is complete i will probably end up making more centers, I need to order some even smaller mill bits so i can get the angle i wanted for the spokes, but for now i'm happy with the way this one turned out, Once the rear tires show up i will start the beadlock rings. Hoping to see tires this week. The center and rim still need to be wet sanded and polished, not sure if i will add any black. Big thx. again to Dave giving me some guidance.
  8. Wheels look sick Dave.
  9. Headers turned out amazing Dave.
  10. I'm back to building, I finally got one of my finished attic rooms turned into my hobby room. I bought 2 10' counter tops from lowes and built some 2x4 frames for them, I still need to build some little racks for the wall above the bench for glues etc. I was also finally able to get the mill and lathe i have been wanting, i purchased a sherline package of ebay for a good deal. Here's a couple pictures of the room so far. Ok so now onto the project, This will be a 1/12th outlaw Drag radial 69 camaro, The tires will be from TDR which are actually 325's and outlaw drag radial uses 315's, for model sake will call them 315's. The plan right now is to use TDR's bigblock chevy unless i can dig up some good pictures and measurements of an aftermarket billet block to machine my own. For now i plan on doing twin turbo, i want to try and machine my own rear tires also. if that works out it could turn into and outlaw 10.5 car. So far i only have one rear rim complete, i plan on starting the other one this weekend and hopefully starting the centers. Kit i'm using The rear wheels i'm doing are the Mickey Thompson PRO 5 ET drag wheel, Keep in mine i'm a rookie machinist. I tapered the dish 5 degrees out from the center then added a 45 on the end. Not trying to get to complicated with my first wheels. keep in mind in the end they will be wet sanded and polished. Back side Want to say big thx. to Dave (comp1839) for helping me out with figuring out how to measure things out and what bits to use.
  11. They turned out Great Dave, Glad you did the welds, really sets them off.
  12. Chris, great looking build, can't wait to see it finished. What you have there is alot of positive camber. I have never seen pictures of any with positive camber, most i have seen have a tiny bit of negative camber, not sure how much they put in. Here's what they usually look like. Chris, did you glue the spindles on allready? I wonder if you may have put them on the wrong sides? Negative camber.
  13. I finally got my Sherline setup. Bought a whole kit with all the tooling, rotary table etc. Can't wait to get it all operational, very excited. Model 4400 lathe and model 2000 Mill

  18. Nice work Dave, Please telll me your doing the welds on the joints? that would really set them off.
  19. Joe... Thanks buddy!! I am really glad I decided to make this to go along with this build. Sure hope to see you get another 1/16th scale build going my friend, Sure miss seeing your skills around here. Thx. Chris, My new sherline mill and lathe are on the way and i'm working with a 3d artist on a 2012 promod camaro, i will be back building soon, can't wait. not sure if you seen my new bench i built. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48712&page=15
  20. Looking sick Tyrone, have to go with the clear scoop.
  21. My new work space that's a work in progress, I have a finished 2nd floor that we don't use so i decided to make it my hobby/computer room. I always wanted to have counter tops for a work bench, so i went to lowes today and picked up 2 on clearance, with those and some 2x4's i have a little over $200 in the bench. it's 10ft each way, so make for plenty of work space. Once i make some more progress i will update. Plan's are to make the far left the work area , in the middle where the 2 halves join will be my lathe and mill and the far right will be the paint booth.
  22. Great updates Dave, giving me alot of ideas on how to do things once my lathe and mill get here. New room is almost done. will be building again soon.
  23. Nice work Dirk.
