1-8 scale 69 camaro pro mod (mike hill's car)
Prostreet replied to comp1839's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Amazing work Dave, you are a true craftsman. Now i will take one of those in 1/12th please for my drag radial build lol -
Thx. Bill and Jim. Ted, I can make little stuff like that. I'm not good enough to do wheels and such right now, I'm sure in the future i may try some bigger stuff. For the 1/12th Drag radial camaro i will be starting once i get the tires and rear wheels. I will be hopefully picking up a mill and will use it alot on that project as the whole motor will be scratch built.

Thx. Guys, No worries Greg. That car in the link you provided is actually a Henry-J wheel stander. Thought since i was replying i would throw up a picture, I turned down the tops for my micro nitro fire bottles on the lathe, I still need to turn down the gauges for them and i'm waiting on some parts to do the lines. I hope to have the whole back section of the fire system done this weekend if all the parts show up. I also did my racepak dash, I did the back round in silver so the buttons on the decals would show up. I still need to add the plug and wires to the back, I used the slixx 1/16th goodie sheet, There is some really nice stuff on that sheet.

Thx. Guys. Chris, They are from scale motorsports and believe it or not they are the 1/12th decals. next time i will go with 1/20 or 1/24, The 1/12th the weave isn't as tight as i would like it but none they less it looks good. i had them from a 1/12th F1 build i was gonna do. They are Black/Pewter plain weave.

Thx. for the kind words guys, The chassis is cleared and i made the center part that goes between the tubs. I still need to polish the carbon parts and i'm going to dull coat the underside of the tubs( the black part only), but had to throw it together for a couple pictures ( keep in mind the tubs are just sitting there and not fitted all the way in) I'm starting to get really excited now because i get to start adding goodies and it's all starting to come together. I also added the door latches to the chassis you can see in the one picture, They are for looks only. I will be using tiny magnets to keep the doors fully shut.

Runners look great Dave, Did you turn down round stock then just mill the flat spots? I love seeing your work gives me ideas and shows me ways to do things. -
Thx. Scott, Well i reached a mile stone in this build today, At least for me. The chassis is painted, i used testors one coat lacquer. The color is diamond dust, I didn't want a dark color this is more like a silver and it does have a little to much metallic in it for me. But none the less it turned out good and i think it should look good once i start hanging stuff on it. Gonna give it a day or 2 to dry then do the carbon underneath and on the door bars then i can hit it with the clear. Mean while i'm gonna get started on a new intake for the engine. I will have to try to get better pictures once it is cleared, It is way brighter than the pictures show.
