  1. For me personally it's when people enjoy my builds or say they learned something from the build. But if i had to chose one of the 2 you listed, I would pick the magazine.
  2. Thx. Scott and Leonard. After pulling out what's left of my hair i have the trans installed, unfortunately i had to take my gas pedal back out because i could not get the clutch can past it. It's all good now and reinstalled, I couldn't make the connectors like the 1:1 uses so i just used some brass nuts. I could have made the reverse shifter a little closer to the drivers side, where it's at now you could never reach it from the seat. I turned the push buttons down on the lathe and hit them with some 1000 grit so they look like brused aluminum. You can't see it but i had to put the clutch can decal on the drivers side, all in all i'm very happy with the way it turned out. Once i find some 1/16th buckles that i think will look good i will do the seat, going to work on the rear end next and try and get the tubs installed. My goal is to be able to show it at NNL east 2013. Used Ted's modeling black rubber line RB motion nuts and stainless rod Scale hardware brass nuts. Also had Jim machine me up some Lamb calipers for the rear. He even put the name on them.
  3. Another beautiful build John, I'm amazed at the speed that you can knock out builds with such great detail.
  4. Amazing job Tyrone, looks like you wouldn't even need to polish it. What clear are you using?
  5. Thx. Guys , this build is turning out way better then I expected. Bart, I didn't hollow out the bell, I need a new chuck my old one doesn't hold tight enough . I did put it on my drill press and drill holes in it to lighten it up a bit. Shifters are done , I will have some pictures tonight of it all in the chassis.
  6. Another small update, Yesterday since work called off i decided to get the trans done. I rounded off the back of the clutch can more, I made the access cover out of a piece of renshape. It turned out a little bigger than i would have liked but i think it still looks ok, I made the shifter pods out of various aluminum and brass tube. The blanket was made using sports tape collored black and the straps are electrical tape with some photoetched buckles i had lying around. also used various RBmotion hardware, Starting on the shifters now and hope to have it finished and installed tonight.
  7. Power just came back on. Was watching the news, really feel for the people with major damage.
  8. Power out since last night at 11pm, fired up the generator, running my tv, 2 fish tanks, sump pump and refrigerator , my mom lives next door, also running her refrigerator and tv off same generator, hope all Is well with everyone else.
  9. Car had a N/A 306 and ran down in the low 11's with street tires , only took it to the track 2 times. Bought a house and it got sold, really regret selling it because it was a GA car and very clean.
  10. Why didn't you PM him to tell him to use PM's instead of posting in his thread to use PM's?
  11. Bill, going to try it tonight and if they don't stay I think I may try masking off where the decals go and hit it with dull coat to give the decals something to bite on. I love the slixx decals but they seem to not have a lot of adhesive or maybe it's just me..
  12. Great clean build Mike.
  13. Nice work Steve, Are you using a compound slide to do the radius on the tops of the bottles?
  14. Chris, I can't wait to see what you can do with a promod, You should definitely pick up a lathe if you can, it is a lot of fun. For the electronics I just went off reference pictures and tried to duplicate them to the best of my ability . I actually used slixx 1/25th decals for them.
  15. Thx. Bill, Did you use any microset? Couldn't get the slixx decals to stick to my fire bottles.
  16. Thx. Chris, scratch built all the electronics and turned down the aluminum parts except the little bolts, working on getting a mill soon after that I would like to get a newer lathe. The can turned out better than I thought it would.
  17. Can't wait to get some of these kits, would like to replicate the 89 notch i use to have.
  18. I was a little bored tonight and dissappointed with the way the resin clutch can and trans looks, So i started fiddiling with my lathe and was able to get the stock good and secure and turn down the clutch can. I think it turned out pretty good, i still have to drill the holes and add the access covers. I think i may leave it raw aluminum instead of painting it titanium, still up in the air on that. I think at this point i may wait for some extra funds and get the TDR lenco or i may just use the resin part and put a blanket on it. Does anybody know a good way to attach decals to aluminum? With my fire bottle i had to hit them with dull coat for the decals to stay on.
  19. Thx. Guys, not going to be able to turn down a clutch bell and trans like I wanted to. My chuck on my lathe doesn't hold the part tight enough so I need to get a new one, will have to go with the resin one for this build.
  20. Thx. guys, it was alot of work. I can't believe this build has been going on a little over a year now , Geess i work slow lol.
  21. Back from the dead, I was finnally able to get my main electronics done. Man it really kicked my Butt with these tiny wires and nuts and bolts, but i was able to get through it and pretty happy with the way it turned out. All the stuff was scratch built except the obvious like wires and bolts, My battery ended up being a generic brand lol. I was unable to print the decal with good quality so it wasn't worth putting it on, I scratch built the battery hold down also. I turned down the starter selinoid that you can see next to the battery and also the little selinoids on for the shift controler, that is the one next to the big stuff and the race pak. Working on the trans and seat next, Trying to turn down the bell housing and trans, will see how that turns out. working through some problems with that. Parts used: Protech wiring and some fittings. Ted's modeling black hose and resin hardware RB motion hardware Scale hardware
  22. Nice shine Tyrone, I'm thinking of doing mine black also.
