  1. No way that fits Michael. The chassis is way too short. You know I sure had to go check.
  2. The ZZ Top frame is kind of a mess with lots of sink marks and the molded in battery box and muffler with exhaust pipe. Be quite a bit of work to make it acceptable so I would rather make a new one. I think it'll be stronger too.
  3. Nice one Walter. You're on!!
  4. Are you sure you're not a robot or a borg? That is outstanding. Now you'll need to repeat that brake rotor / caliber assembly three more times. Exquisite work my friend.
  5. Oh man...a cut away 6-71 blower as a display stand would be awesome Chris. Go for it but finish the build first.
  6. Thanks Dumpy. I got another kit from a friend and it looks like the only thing I can use the frame for is a pattern to make a new one. It has the muffler, exhaust pipe and battery molded in. A fabbed one will look better anyway.
  7. I know. I've some stuff to get finished before then so I'll be busy.
  8. Thanks guys. In looking at the photos, seems to me the rear tire is too small in diameter. They're the tallest pie crusts I have though.
  9. Not sure how come I didn't comment on this build previously. Very nice Aaron you nailed everything about this. Love it.
  10. Love it Jeff. Keep posting those altered of yours.
  11. Gotta love a Fiat altered. Very nice!!
  12. Man that is really nicely done. Tell us some about it like where are the front rims from. A few more pictures would be nice too. Maybe one per post.
  13. Thanks Dave. I'm really happy with it so far.
  14. Alright fellas, since a few of you commented about only seeing partial paint on this build I thought I'd take a few quick pics of the painted body on the chassis and hopefully without all of the dust. I really like the color and before any of you guys say the engine paint doesn't match the body, the 1:1 didn't either. It needs another coat of paint but its raining like crazy here so no paint for at least a few days. Stay tuned.
  15. To quote Joe "Oh My Freaking goodness!!!" What a stellar update my friend. You have been busy. The modifications to the body are so subtle but oh so right and the way it looks on the chassis, spot on. I suppose next you;ll be buying a steering wheel, fuel pump, and a parachute pull handle. Love the wall art idea. Keep it coming.
  16. Yay!!! Tim's back and doesn't disappoint. The level of exactness is beyond compare.
  17. I don't need a sneak peak but if you don't hurry, I will. Let us see what you got going on already!!! Quit stalling.
  18. As promised, here's a few pictures of the parachute installed on the rear subframe that has been shot with Alclad. Man, I need to dust. Once it drys out and warms up a bit, I hope to get at let one additional coat of paint on the body before applying the decals. Almost at the finish line.
  19. Enuf silliness. The paint has dried thoroughly but now we've got cold and rainy weather so it will be awhile before the second coat. I was able to get the parachute done with the cords and mounted to the subframe. Wasn't able to take a picture or two late last night so I'll do that tonight.
  20. Oh I'm tuned in brother, you don't need to worry about that.
  21. I just can't seem to finish a project without starting another. It's in the early stages and I'm starting with the ZZ Top body and had planned on using the frame but my previously owned kit is without one. I'll have to figure out what to do and may just make one. Here's a picture of the one that inspired me although I'm not building a replica of this. I do like the faded red color with all of the chrome and black. Here's the early start. Front wheels and tires are still uncertain and it will definitely have an early hemi.
  22. OK brother, you gotta have an update soon. Last one was before Christmas. What miracles have you been making?
  23. Hey Glu - whatever happened to this build? You still at it? You were off to such a fantastic start.
  24. Happy new years to you too Brian. Sat down at the bench last night after a holiday hiatus and started a new one. I'll need some specific parts for it so won't probably get very far.
  25. Maybe that will sway the judges in their final decision.
