  1. Thanks Michael. Appreciate your interest. Yup...its rocking' now. It'll be a bit of a challenge figuring out the location for the hole for the drag link in the body without it getting too big.
  2. Any updates on this epic build Bill? Always liked this one.
  3. Crazy good Tim. Its really tight in there and starting to resemble a jet airliner cockpit.
  4. That's awesome and so well deserved. Congrats Mark.
  5. Loose screws you say?? I can't even find them.
  6. OK fellas. A bit of bench time over the weekend but it was limited with relatives in town and the wife's birthday but I was still able to squeeze some time in. Got the side tins in place along with the steering arm. Still working out how to configure to the front axle though. From looking at the pictures, I see I still need to add one more rivet. On to the pictures. I used more ss tubing and rod ends from RB Motion for the steering arm and the minuscule rivets are from Scale Hardware. I knocked off the steering wheel while working on the tins and will need to get that put back on. Next up is back to work on the rear brass framing as I need to solder up another side and figure out how to mount to the chassis.
  7. That stance is up there and I like it on this 'pile o' BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH'. LOL Your wheels look exceptional.
  8. Thanks Codi. Yes, you need to get some of this printer's plate. I've been using it for 20 years or so.
  9. Tim - not only does your accuracy and detail blow me away along with the fact that this is 1/25th scale but what I can't quite get over is everything in this assembly is made with metal. There's no plastic, glue or filler. Amazed beyond belief. I'll bet you really like heavy metal.
  10. You crack me up Nytroz but I don't like either one of your choices.
  11. Hey Michael - always good to hear from you. Thanks for the kudos. I hope to get back to the bench soon with some new updates.
  12. Dennis - this is an outstanding build and sits oh so right. I was just getting use to the track nose but am glad you decided to scrap it. Really like your execution and creativeness. Looking forward to some paint.
  13. Beautifully executed James. I've always wanted to 'gasserize' one of these Impalas because they look so good. Yours is perfect. Love it.
  14. Thanks Billy. I appreciate your interest.
  15. What??? No suggestions on who plays the lead role?? I have a few ideas on that myself. I think 'The Rock' can buy you the Dove Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries.
  16. I'm humbled Harry. Thanks so much for your consideration.
  17. Hi Harry. Thanks for stopping in and commenting. I love building vintage altereds for several reasons. Number one - they were the baddest things on the strip. Another is because almost everything is out in the open and not 'hidden' under a body. And lastly, its because there is so much fabricating that needs to be done. That's my favorite part.
  18. Johnny boy - I really shouldn't be surprised by any of your paint creations but you blow my doors off every time. That ROCKS!! How about I share with you my straight axle details and you share painting with me? You are the Jedi Master Painter. That's Painter with a P. LOL
  19. Finally got a bit of bench time in yesterday. started off by trying to fabricate the frame rails that goes under the turtle deck with brass rod and soldering it together. I can tell, this will take some practice. It was so bad, I didn't even photograph it. I moved on to something I'm a bit more comfortable with, the tins. I had the bottom one made previously and with the first drilled hole for the rivets, I screwed up the placement and had to start with a new one. Here's a few pictures. I used printing plate and will make up some sides next. The rivets are from Scale Hardware and man are they small. I had to trim the length off so they wouldn't go all the way through the frame. My cockpit finally has a floor. More this week.
  20. Yes it is, totally cool.
  21. That is really impressive. I love every bit of it.
  22. Nicely done. I'll bet that felt good. A good dio should tell a story and yours certainly does.
  23. You and that dang big penny of yours. LOL That is incredible craftsmanship. The bar is getting higher and higher as Chris says. You may have to thin down the brake fluid tho because its viscosity is to much for those small connections.
  24. That's coming along nicely Joe. Keep at it. Each successive one is easier and gets better. YAY!! Another convert.
