  1. You never cease to amaze Tim. Great execution on that aluminum sheet.
  2. That is some exquisite rendering Chris. I'm also curious as to why you feel the need to redo the blower, pullies and hat.
  3. That looks great Tim. Nice and symmetrical. Congrats.
  4. Hope to get some time in over the next few days so please stay tuned. I know this is taking a long time, no one knows it more than me.
  5. Thanks Tom. Maybe over this winter season I'll get back to it. A few others on my 'finish' list too.
  6. I really need to dig this one back out of moth balls. I had so much fun working on it.
  7. Whew!! I can stop holding my breathe. Thanks...I was turning blue.
  8. That makes much more sense Joe. So the vertical axle ends are loose still?
  9. After studying the photos, I guess I'm at a loss to understand the correlation to the batwings on the axle as orientated to the axle ends. Seem to be 90 degrees off. Please explain your plan.
  10. Oh yeth, this ith gonna be good. This looks great for your firth one. I with you luck on your assembly.
  11. I don't know about being 'hooked' but it was fun and won't hesitate to do it again if the situation calls for it.
  12. Man Dave, the back of that dragster is all meat and very little potatoes. This is going to be fun to watch.
  13. Me teach you??? Now that's a good one Tim. You're funny.
  14. Another epic build brother. I loved watching this one come together. Seems like it took two weeks. I don't know how you do it even with minions. What's up next? I want to get a front row seat.
  15. A bunch of bench time today and this was mostly spent getting to know my soldering iron and the silver solder. The subframe is complete and I'm amazed how it came out. I was expecting a battle or two but it went together really well. I kinda like this soldering stuff. Here's a couple of pictures. Now to figure out how it would have been attached to the frame. When studying the earlier posted frame pictures, I couldn't see any tell-tale signs of this or any mounting places or hardware. This frame holds the push bars and the parachute so it would have been mounted directly to the frame. Comments welcome.
  16. Enjoy?? I am certainly enjoying those things of beauty. Nicely done Dave.
  17. Thanks Joe. Looking forward to seeing your straight axle progress so post some pics, will ya?
  18. Finally some pictures although the newly made part on the front axle is the one that went flying across the room. It needed to be remade anyway but I could have used the bold and rod end off of it. I'll need to put a splice in the rod length so it will be able to go on after the body is attached. More to follow.
  19. Thanks Danno. Well fellas. I was putting the finishing touches on the part, had the rod end attached and hardware all assembled and with the component in my tweezers to finish polishing it, it was lost. When I turned my head, the tweezers went 'pop' and that part was gone. Its somewhere in my hobby room but I didn't even start to look for it since I didn't even see which direction it went. Made a new one, better than the previous but alas, no pictures yet.
  20. OK Johnny boy…I just burnt my retinas and its all your fault. Now i'm gonna need to make an appointment with my eye doctor. That thing just sparkles.
  21. A bit of work done last night and this morning working on the steering arm for the knuckle. I'm probably not using the correct terminology for these components though. No pictures as I ran out of time before needing to head to work this morning. I'll finish and attach the part then shot some pics, hopefully tonight. Stay tuned.
  22. I'm completely dumbfounded lil' brother. I hope to see this at DSC in the spring.
  23. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, it does significantly. That lathe / mill is a thing of beauty.
  24. The dog seems to be looking at the sign and thinking "Hmmmmm..."
