  1. Totally beyond description of mere mortals. Your work makes me think you were born with a soldering gun in one hand and solder in the other. I, too, hope to see this in person one day, hopefully before it all gets covered up with paint. Carry on Tim.
  2. Well fellas, I never was completely satisfied with the front twelve spoke rims on this build so I've ordered some from Jim at MicroNitro. he has recently added these to his awesome lineup. Also, I've run into a bit of an issue because when I went to make the radius rods, they hit the steering arm so a bit more reconfiguring is in order. I hope to get back to this once the Scout Truck is completed. I appreciate your patience as well as your interest. Please stay tuned.
  3. Thanks Chris. It will be on the project / display table and it will be further along than it is now. I'd like to have the interior cabinetry installed in the camper and at least a few glass slide windows installed. Maybe one or two other things as well. Time will tell.
  4. Well fellas, I put a to do list together for this build and decided yesterday its not going to make DSC's judging tables. I just don't want to rush through the last few details after spending all of this time on it. I will continue to work on it up to and after the show.
  5. That came out awesome Steve. I really like the modifications you did to the body.
  6. A bit more of bench time in and am still working on various small items from the back bumper supports, painting the cab, grill and headlight surrounds, interior details, luggage rack above the cab and a few other assorted areas. No pictures to show at this time but will have some soon. Stay tuned.
  7. By that, do you mean you know Danno? You need to attend one of these years.
  8. No, I'm not going to make it to GSL and I've had it planned but just can't work it out to fit it into the schedule. You'll just have to come to DSC on April 11th to see this in person.
  9. Its not particularly tough John, just time consuming. Thanks for the kudos Tom. Its appreciated.
  10. I have no words to describe what I'm seeing. Incredible. Where have you been hiding this engine and the thread that shows you building it? Out of the park. If that were a girl, I'd propose.
  11. That right there is a masterpiece in 1/25th scale. How you do that exacting detail in that scale is beyond me. Impressive!!
  12. OK fellas. I've been working mostly on getting the shell together with the interior and exterior skins. Its been taking a long time thought because of gluing a portion of the skin and holding it together with tiny cloth pins and letting it thoroughly dry before moving on to the next section. While sections were drying, I went to work on other things. Added heater hoses with PE clamps to them, worked a bit on the shell marker lights. I had a couple of them and asked the MasterCaster to make me a few more so I have 8 of them. The resin ones will get some BMF and Tamiya transparent orange or red paint. Also been working on the toilet seat. Now I have to say it seems really weird to be speaking of building a scale toilet on here. Probably not many of them on this forum. LOL Here's a couple of pictures. Thanks for your interest and following along. So much more to do to get finished for DSC in less than two weeks.
  13. You've been busy lil brother. Great update. Primer or no primer, I'm really looking forward to seeing this at DSC in less than two weeks.
  14. Oh my gawd!! That is stunning. Your paint jobs are spectacular lil brother. Now my eyeballs hurt and I need to go and change my undies.
  15. Thanks for following along Richard. I need to get some photos up to share with you guys how the shell is really coming together.
  16. Not flapping my gums Johnny, been working on the aluminum shell. Added a few more cross pieces of rectangular tubing and working on the interior side skins. They're finally in primer.
  17. Plan B seems to have worked jut fine judging by the pi ctures. Probably a pain on your end though. Don't worry about how the solder joints look. Its great to see them before they're cleaned up, means yoour actually human. LOL
  18. Its actually almost straight now. I've had it in a couple of clamps to hold it flat until the humidity settles down. Thanks for your comments fellas.
  19. Great update lil' brother. That new fire bottle looks spot on compared to the other ones and that pic with the tins in place and the tranny blanket peeking through is a beauty. One thing I'd like to point out and maybe you're all over it, is that alot of the builds I see have the steering wheel too close to the seat so if you were a miniature driver, the thing would be too close to your chest and be completely uncomfortable. Rock on lil' brother. Keep those updates coming.
  20. A little DSC promo in my thread...perfect. Thanks Danno. A bit of work done last night. I started attaching the aluminum skins on both sides of the shell. I started at the bottom and worked my way up by gluing from the inside with Zap-A-Gap. Still more to glue. Here's a few progress pictures. Here's the curbside. And the streetside. While taking pictures this morning, I noticed the bathroom door warped along the grain of the wood. I'm hoping its the local humidity since its been raining all night and continues this morning. If it sets, I'll have to figure out how to straighten it. Stay tuned.
