  1. Awesome stuff. Thanks for posting the link.
  2. I think this is what John has done with his minions.
  3. OK, changed my mind on the aluminum craft wire. Too small of diameter and just didn't look beefy enough. Going to try my hand at soldering up some in brass tubing. With a number of the other builders here that I really aspire to achieve a minimum of their skill sets here are using brass so its about time for me to try it. Stay tuned again.
  4. Outstanding stuff Tim. Makes me want to get a mill and lathe even more. One day. On another note, the side decal is almost done. I'll send a pic tonight.
  5. Well Tim, if you want me to draw the decals up, I'd be glad to help. I have a forum friend, Chief Joseph, who can print them up. His work is fantastic. Other than that, I'm speechless as well.
  6. Are you flipping kidding me?!? Those batteries and tray are a show stopper. What are the plans for the decals? Do you have them already done up?
  7. John does some incredible airbrush work indeed. I have seen a few of his masterpieces but not this one. Thanks for posting.
  8. I'm entirely on board with this.
  9. And I had to read it, that's $40. LOL
  10. Thanks Chris and Michael. They aren't attached just yet but I've drilled an appropriate sized hole in the upper end of the aluminum rod to accept the smaller diameter brass rod. Once I'm done making the individual headers and the flange is Alcladed (is that a word??), I'll use Zap-A-Gap to put it all together. I still need to drill holes in the heads on the built up engine to accept the brass rod pins. I'm using an extra Miss Deal hemi head for the spacing. Stay tuned.
  11. Post deleted because its not allowing me to use the brackets [ and ]. A bit of work done over the long weekend but mostly it was family time. Started on the exhaust by using some aluminum craft wire from Michael's. It's 0.078 in diameter and with all of the handling, it polishes up a bit. The flange is brass as well as the pins. The exhaust tips have been drilled out and will eventually get some flat black paint once these are done. I'll work some more on these this week but feel I have a good start.
  12. This is awesome. Love it. Looks similar to mine I posted years ago.
  13. This may be your first posting but its obvious its not your first build. Looks great.
  14. Wasn't able to get any bench time in yesterday so I'll get some time in the week. I will share with you that the axle keeps coming unglued in a couple of spots from all of the rough handling. I still need to put it back together.
  15. No I didn't Ray and now wish I had. It never occurred to me. Great suggestion.
  16. Thanks for the feedback fellas. hope to get some bench time in today although it Father's Day so who knows.
  17. Finally able to get a picture posted of my tool rack.
  18. Ok.....ok, here's a few pictures. I made these out of aluminum printing plate and cut a slot in the axle with a P/E saw blade for them to fit into. They may be a bit big but I'm going with them this size because I'm tired of having to find them on the floor. LOL Radius arms are next and I have a couple of different ideas on those. Stay tuned.
  19. Outstanding. That is some really interesting stuff going on here. Which do you like better; the brass one or the aluminum one?
  20. Great idea Ray although I have about 25 to 30 X-Actos with various items in them like different blades, PE saw blades and the smaller of the drill bits. I took a piece of oak and drilled holes in it to set the back end of the X-Acto handle in with the working end up. For the ones with blades and the tiniest bits, I keep the plastic cover on them so I don't puncture myself. I use different colors and different combinations of colors of narrowed down electrical tape to indicate the size of the bit. I'll get some pictures up this evening.
  21. Great little tutorial Ray. Thanks for sharing. Looks like I'm off to Harbor Freight tonight.
  22. Thanks for the positive feedback gentlemen. I've been working on the 'batwings' for attaching the radius rods for the front axle. Have one side done and attached, working on the other side. I'll get some pictures up either tonight or in the morning.
  23. Wow Gene. That is really sharp looking. I like the building's front facade. What are your plans for the finish on the exterior walls?
  24. I don't know Joe, bacon brownies might just be better. I like your suggestion and would do it although the reference photos don't show that as much as I can tell. I may just do it anyway. Thanks and I won't hit you, you're too far away.
