  1. Man, you are the best. thanks, joe.
  2. Correct they do not work. there is an optional piece b18(b19) that holds the door open. if you do not use it the door is closed. joe.
  3. Thanks guys, do you remember what year T'bird it was? joe.
  4. Great start. i have the kit also. What year did Revell intend it to be??? thanks, joe.
  5. I hope you liked them. These are my first car and bike kits since long long time ago. I especially want to thank Brad Johnson who owns the 1:1 "Z U L8R" and this build is dedicated to him. He is a great guy who helped me with the reference shots. I used Glacier Blue from MCW and photo etch from Model Car Garage (both are great companies with great products.) joe.
  6. i never got mine either. joe.
  7. Doc, Really that is it. They get photographed, maybe shown to kids and wife, in the case and on to the next kit. They are rarely touched if ever after that. joe.
  8. If i am right, who made the kit. thanks, joe.
  9. Well Cliff, i picked up the kit last night and only got a glimpse inside because i brought home a ton of work. I am really impressed by the interior detail. Saturday i will get a good chance to look at all the sprues closely. right now i am debating doors open or closed. If open, i think it will only be the passenger side. You have to see that interior. joe.
  10. I am picking up mine from the LHS this Saturday. I already have the paint and perhaps you and i picked the same. I am using the Green Metalflake in the little square Testor's bottle with a black textured underside. You have a great build. I would just dull the tires a bit more. joe.
  11. I have used ELO before. I just used Q-tips to apply very liberally over an area waited a short while then started rubbing with more Q-tips i used a bunch but eventually once it starts working just keep going. I only know it was solvent based paint since the kit was started before i bought it. I will be using it again soon on my next bike. I bought a started 1/12 Harley Low rider from a guy and the fender and tank were already painted. joe.
  12. Mine is waiting at the post office so unless i can sneak home early, I won't have it until Saturday. the tires are not a huge issue for me but i would prefer to have accurate sidewall detail. I really don't like the curbside models and this is only my second after a Tamiya Porsche GT3. At this point i am hoping for decent p/e sets and that red-orange paint from Zero. best regards, joe.
  13. the yellowing is not new. I use it only for coating clear parts and for holding p/e on surfaces where strength is not an issue. joe.
  14. thanks again, i will look at all the suggested items. joe.
  15. thanks for the suggestions. I have tried the masking tape thing with mixed results. I have an excel knife but cannot recall now if it is split in an "X" I think only a " l ". Randy, I really know what you mean about the wear and tear on the hands. That bit works down to #80????? joe.
  16. My drill is losing its grip, really, for any bit smaller than a #77. This tool is almost 30 years old now and i figure it may be time for a new one. Thanks, joe.
  17. dodge ram 1500/2500 pickup. 1/24 or 1/12. 1968 Mustang convertible 1/24 1969 mustang boss 302 1/24 1968 Chevelle 396 1/24
  18. nice build. I am waiting for the snow plow version. although i am in Chicago, a snow plow so far would be out of place....no snow?!?!?! joe.
  19. Great car and build. Can you tell me how you did the red stripes on the tires? thanks, joe.
  20. I love the car and that is a great build but its not my flavor of green for that year. I think there was a metallic dark green and a rallye green. One of those was on the car a high school friend of mine had. any help on those greens would be greatly appreciated. thanks, joe.
  21. Snakes, fire ants, alligators, spiders, scorpions, boars and bugs as big as your hand, no thanks. I am a tad on the squeamish side, I guess!! If all i have to do is tough out 2 - 3 months of winter crispness, I take it and be happy. You guys rock. best regards, joe.
  22. I have read reviews that say it is best ferrari by revell so far. The only downer is wheel and tire combo. Wheel to small and tire to high. So for a set of 20" rims and narrow sidewalls you have a very good kit. joe.
  23. Jim, Normally i would agree with you about Chicago, but you have missed a very mild winter so far. Yesterday was about the coldest so far and that was upper 20's. UPPER 20's!!! That is really warm for this time as you know. I find i am much more prone to the length of the winter than the depths reached by the thermometer. At this point we have about 60 days and its over. cheers, joe.
  24. wow! I knew there wasn't a '69 but i thought there was a '68. What the heck was i thinking of? thanks for the replies, joe.
  25. I would love to have one but so far i have only found hard tops. thanks, joe.
