  1. Here's a link for the instruction sheet for the 4270. http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truckkit_instructions/ertl/8001_international/ Killer site for a wealth of info.
  2. ummm.............. These were done before Katrina hit. She's the one that didn't like the decals.
  3. Tanker??? hmmmm........I have a few of the AMT tankers just waiting to be built.
  4. Ben--I need a few myself. The LN that I'm building with the Yellow fleet sure could use one, and I may be adding a LTS to the pack. Great work on it. Now if you would only do the Dodge L-1000!
  5. I do have a few trailers--40' and 28' that I will be putting behind them. Who knows what I may come up with--I've seen a few different styles of trailers they used and they might even be getting into the flatbed and moving business!!(at least in my fleet)
  6. Thanks guys. I wanted to do something just a bit different this go around.
  7. I agree--that scheme fits the truck perfectly.
  8. You helped me remember some additional trucks for future Yellow trucks--I have a Fliner SD that I was thinking about pre-dating a bit, the IH daycab--got to get a couple from Eric when he's ready, the KW daycab--didn't think about that one even tho I have it on the computer for reference--duh me!!! The Road Boss--hmmm.........time will tell how big this fleet gets. And can't forget about trailers!!!! The more I think about it, the less room I have one the shelf. Guys--you gotta quit adding these to me.
  9. I may add more to the fleet later, but right now I've got my hands full just to finish these 4. Any suggestions for other trucks to use?
  10. Here's what I've got done so far. It's sitting on a "used" General frame, shortened, Astro tanks and battery box.
  11. Ben is correct. The truck is the GMC 9500 short hood from AITM. Dave has both the long and short hoods, which I also have the long hood as well. Just haven't done anything with it yet. The Crackerbox is available from Spaulding and sometimes they pop up on ebay.
  12. What started out as a single truck--the GMC Crackerbox has now grown into a small fleet. I ordered the paint from Scale Finishes, which is the correct color for Yellow, and had PLENTY left over. (I ordered 3 bottles, since I wasn't too sure about my airbrushing skills) And naturally, my air compressor gave out before I could finish putting a good coat on.
  13. Started out with an Autocar dump and 2 dump trailer kits. A few "slight" mods to the truck including making a tilt hood, adding some kitty power, some rubber from Jamie, and some decals from a "weird" decal guy down south.
  14. I still have them.I'm also working with Jamie to be able to have some of the sleepers available thru the store as well. (I might have to have one for myself as well)
  15. Frustration??from me??? I just have a sense of humor (either that or too many fumes over the years)
  16. Orders have slacked up a bit and I'm ready to start building again. Back when I bought Brad out, I was suffering from burnout.
  17. Started with a set of doubles, a straight edge and a knife. Here's the Italeri American reefer for reference. and some decals.
  18. In this case, I am the "little guy". 1 man, 1 computer. I have no problem with complying with them. As stated before, I want to do everything on the up and up and have no desire to do a "misplaced letters" or "scrambled name". I see this as indirectly provoking them and possibly hurting any chance in the future of obtaining permission from them to print their logo. Certainly it adds to the attractiveness of the decals but it is not major reason for buying the decals. I do hope one day that Paccar and I can come to some sort of agreement. Until then, we shall get by as truck modelers have already done for all these years.
  19. If you visit my store, you will notice the changes I made, but I will still make reference to the specific kit(s) which the decals were made for. I don't think I'm violating anything that way.
  20. The good thing is these stripes are still going to be offered since the will work on most trucks. insaneMB---I have no problem complying with the laws. I was and still am willing to do what is necessary to use their logos. Apparently I don't make enough $$ for them to grant permission. Decals are a sideline for me and I could not survive off what I make. I took over Brad's business because he and I were somewhat in the same boat--He had no time to build and I was burned out from building.
  21. Maybe that was MY problem--I didn't say "please, mother may I?" Like I said before, business as usual without any K******h or P*******t logos.
  22. Dennis, I had not problems other than the fact the rear part of the cab is from the 4070A cab. I had a few problems with that. The pic looks better than the actual model.
  23. Here is the official reply from Paccar: Jerry, Kenworth and Peterbilt do not wish to license your product, please discontinue the use of our trademarks. Thank you, Brian. Brian Van Bodegraven Claims Manager PACCAR Inc 425 468 7387 I am saddened by this, but business will continue on without the use of the logos. If you have any questions, send me a pm or email.--Jerry
