  1. Eric's right. Due to some recent request and several 1/32 orders, I will be working on getting more in the store over the next few weeks. It was great talking to you as well Eric.
  2. Highway is right on his suggestion. As far as the copy & paste, it worked good for me and still does from time to time. You do have to be careful of the margins tho, if you're working with large decals or a lot on the sheet. Once you get things in place, then try the "print preview" option before printing.
  3. I found the Testors program to be not completely worthless, but just a pain to use. When I first started making decals, I would copy & paste to MS Word then print to My epson inkjet. Make note however, if you choose to do inkjet decals, there are some pointers. 1. If using clear decal paper, it will only be good to use these on light or white colors otherwise you will have bleedthru. 2. You will need to use a good sealer on the decals--I still use the Testors decal spray as well as a few other clearcoats. (side note--the ALPS do not require it, but I use it as extra protection against scratches) 3. Allow ample dry time after printing before clearcoating and after. This process can take up to a week depending on how good you want it. 4.With the Testors program you are limited on a few things unless you go online to purchase the upgrade. Since I took over modeltruckin.com, I have learned a lot more when it comes to making decals. I use Adobe Illustrator for the artwork, however I can still do some the "old fashioned" way as mentioned in the beginning. Any questions, you can pm me or drop me an email.
  4. The 1st issue of the 4070A had air ride as well as the 1st issues of the 4070B. Later on they changed over to the spring suspension on the 4070B. Hope that helps.
  5. Chris--I'll let you know something in the next few days.
  6. Here I am... a little late, but I was at church. Will that work as a good excuse? Jim gave my store email and if you're still having problems, drop me a line at phoneguy2001@yahoo.com
  7. It looked like this. However, I have no info about it, since I got it off ebay.
  8. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's on my Wish list now!!!
  9. Scaling 1/87 artwork up to 1/24-25 is not as easy as one would think. I've already thought about it. I try to come up with different logos that have not been done before (for truck modelers). Learning to convert jpeg or gif into a scalable vector is something I am still in the process of doing. That is the main reason I'm not doing "custom" work at the moment, but if you have artwork ready, email me and we can discuss it. As far as I know, currently there are only 3 of us doing 1/24 scale decals. And as mentioned before, trademark issues are another thing we have to deal with. That is why I no longer print KW or Pete logos.
  10. Like Jim said, for me it boils to to my skill level. As some have seen, I have a tendency to overdo it a bit, even when I try for the subtle look.
  11. "I see yellow trucks" Calling it finished on the Yellow fleet (for now).
  12. The trend seems to indicate it MIGHT get reissued. As of right now, the kit is "somewhat" rare. For some, the model can be done using the cab from the Autocar, Diamond REO, and the Road Boss kits along with a resin hood that Gary Wallace makes, which is sold at Sourkrauts. Hope this helps answer your questions.
  13. It varies day to day. I would guess anywhere from $25 to $80,sometimes more depending on how bad somebody wants it.
  14. Sourkraut is still going> I just got a few things from him last week.
  15. I use Ambroid liquid, whenever I can find it.
  16. chuggin' right along. Yellow is now in the fuel business. Also got a couple of things done on the General.
  17. Here's the article. http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm40_nov_1996_conve/
  18. yep, figured I would try some semi-scratching. I started with the article from CM converting the RVG kit, but I didn't have one.
  19. A few small updates. The 9500 is just about done, and decided a flatbed would look good behind it. Minor work left on the flatbed. Got a little more done on the Crackerbox. Sourkraut had the 6-71 Detroit that I thought would be perfect for it. And that's it for now.
  20. I just got word from Jameston at scalefinishes.com that he will have the colors for Detroit, Cummins, and C*t ready, most likely by the end of the week. Check him out--great stuff. http://www.scalefinishes.com/
  21. The trailer is a cut down moving van--I did the "chop suey" on 2 of them. I did learn a few thing of of it, so if I do it again, I know what not to do. I should have taken some out behind the axle.
  22. KW???? I don't have any YET, plus I still need to finish these. Should be before the end of the year. I will have to do a KW daycab tho, I've done 2 years back. Wish I still had them. I think I've already got plans for another 4 trucks when I get done with these, making the fleet a total of 8 and all will have different trailers. The only reason the fleet is growing to that size is because when I ordered the paint from Jameston at Scale Finishes, I was unsure of my airbrush skills, so I ordered 3--2 oz bottles. It went on very smooth without any goof-ups. You should check out the colors he has available.
  23. I just might have to get one of those hoods and hopefully it will turn out this good.
  24. Here's some progress pics on the fleet. Starting with the Crackerbox..still waiting on the engine to arrive...it's a surprise, but I think period correct for it. Next is the Ford LN with one of the "new" moving trailers.....the other one is sitting on the shelf, still have to do some work on the dolly 3rd we have the GMC General toting a 40' van....... and last we have the GMC 9500 in the "heavy haul and flatbed division"
