dealing with trademarks
phoneguy replied to phoneguy's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
By no means am I mad over this. It just hit me out of the blue, but I do think somebody gave them a heads up on my decals. I do hope the will allow me to continue using their names, but if not, that's ok as well. There is no way small fish like me can afford the $$ to obtain the licensing fee, nor do I make that much in a year. I will, however, still work on other sets. -

I sorta did ask the "purdy please"....awaiting an answer from them. However, as Tim has informed me, I shouldn't hold my breath. (I might have plenty of blue for the printer) -

dealing with trademarks

I've already sent them a reply and hopefully the will have mercy on me. It's not like I'm mass producing 1,000 a day. Lucky if I do that in a year. But I will comply. -
new (to me) tanker

Maybe I can make some, IF I'm not infringing on any trademarks. -
Well, bad news concerning modeltruckin.com. Read the following sent to me via store email. From: Jacquie Montez Email: paccar.trademarks@paccar.com ------------------------------------------------------ It has come to our attentione through the existence of your website that you are producing and offering for sale, decals bearing the Kenworth and Peterbilt names and logos. Please be advised that the words, Kenworth and Peterbilt, as well as the KW and Peterbilt oval design logos are registered trademarks owned by PACCAR Inc. PACCAR reserves the right to issue trademark authorizations of use for its registered marks to licensees and approved contracts. Please contact the PACCAR law department at the email provided. Unauthorized use of registered logos is a trademark law violation. This is a courtesy notice to you. Please remove any reference to Peterbilt and Kenworth from your website and discontinue manufacturing and selling the decals with the Peterbilt and Kenworth logos. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please also consider and review whether you hold any licenses for the other marks which you offer, as you may be in violation of other trademarks besides ours. Jacquie Montez Trademarks Manager PACCAR Inc Law Department hmmmmm.... mighty strange I get this just after someone notified me of this posting: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/forum01/index.php?topic=44980.0 Looks like I'll have to make a few "changes"

phoneguy replied to toplessfury's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That's the reason I don't show "certain" decals in my store. -

This one just happened to be pretty quick to throw together. I'm not so sure about o'hare..Sometimes my time to put these together is very limited.Even moreso depending on some upcoming MRI results on my neck. -

Modeltruckin.com

Something new for the little guys. ;D (ho scale, that is.) -
Eric, I've found that there are a bunch of lookie-lous on the forums and very few respond. I have a tendency to look as well without responding. I understand how you feel about spending the $$$ to cast the cab, only to have a few people buy it (that's why I don't print decals until someone orders). I have done 1 or 2 Transtar daycabs in my time, but I would buy a couple of them to revamp a few older builds. I hope to get back to building once again since I have most of the bugs worked out on my decal store and have plenty of building to catch up on. Were you planning on the 4070A or B style? Either one works for me.

Modeltruckin.com
phoneguy replied to phoneguy's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The latest scoop...........Most likely the 15th of March. Gives me plenty of time to get the store ready and a bit of a head start on printing. -
Guys, a lot of you have already heard, but for those that haven't, here goes. I recently bought modeltruckin.com from Brad and am in the process of getting ready to reopen the store. I encourage everyone to stop in, have a look and sign up. I'm going to try to reopen around the 1st of March and will eventually have a lot more in each of the scales. My priority right now is the 1/25 and 1/87 scales. I will add more to the other scales later as well special orders. I will also be carrying a few resin items. Thanks for letting me rant.

whats the deal
phoneguy replied to buba39's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I post here once in a while, but I do check the site regularly. Being a truck modeller, I only check out the big rig area. Buba--if it's a pat on the back you're looking for, you may not always get it. i've gone thru 3 stages---I've gotten kudos for my builds, i've gotten few, if any responses, and I've even taken heavy criticism- some to the point of getting VERY discouraged. I finally realized I build for ME, I enjoy the hobby, and the forums have pushed me to a higher level of building. I enjoy the variety of builds I see and get ideas from them. I know you've been around a while (seen the name changes on another forum), so you should know that not everyone will post. With all that said, build what you want, how you want regardless of whether or not anyone comments on it. -
