  1. Nice job! It would make a very nice restoration project in the real world, that's what I like about it, not over done on the weathering. I love it!
  2. Beautiful work! It looks like real wood. Still missing a few details like steering wheel, bumpers , etc., I actually like it in it's present state. Very nice!
  3. Good part is you can both get a model out of this kit. I love it and already have three, a lot of possibilties with this one or two really. I'm trying to get out of the snap kits too soon with my Grandaughter (5 1/2), my mistake. If she is ready she is ready and I think your baby girl is. I saw the last one. And i just figured out what W.I.P. stands for and you always need one.
  4. That simply looks like a fun car to build!
  5. Nice and low and slow and nice!!! I have the same problem on engine shots, I would like to know how to get them in focus with plenty of light. Wait, you found a way, take a picture before you insall it. LOL
  6. .....Waiting for an answer on this one....ANYONE? And seriously, I have visited my LHS and asked for something, and stood there while he looked it up on the internet. Could I have done this myself and saved money? Probably but, remember to consider shipping and of course sales tax. It pays to shop and compare, just ask any woman. Or better yet, have her pick it up for you while she is at JoAnn Fabrics.
  7. It looks like the weathering worked. I like the style!
  8. Wanted to say Avanti by Studebaker and someone beat me to it. Want to say 1965? Anyway, I always thought it was a car ahead of it's time. As for the Mercedes, it's a car for today if you have very deep pockets.
  9. Wanted to say cool.... ....so I did!!!!
  10. A recent trip to the Lego Store at Downtown Disney, Florida, I discovered you can buy them in bulk, any color, any size. I loaded up the little red bricks, my favorite, when I over heard my Daughter-in-law say, "What's he going to do with them?" Seeing that everyone else was ready to go and not wanting to wait in line to check out, I sheepishly put them back. After leaving the area I told her what all I could do with them and how I always wished I could just buy the ones I want. Then I got, "Why didn't you? It looks like another trip to Disney!!!
  11. I got the carbon fiber look by spraying second shade through an orange net bag. Thanks.
  12. More pictures
  13. This represents the third place car of Raul Bosel, The Dominos Pizza Hot One. Al Unser Jr. all most won the race when on the 199th lap of 200, I believe, Emerison Fittipaulti passed him in the third turn going down on the grass (a no no today), then crashing Little Al. In my opinion , Bosel would have been declaired the winner by today's rules , even though he was in third down a lap because, Emerison would have been penalised one lap. My Wife and I witnessed the race from the third turn grandstand where the action between Little Al and Emerison could be seen first hand. Model is box stock with engine wires. The three tone paint is not an easy one with the contours. I built it for a red, white and blue theme. I think these AMT Indy kit are often over looked and easy to find at swap meets for as little as $5. It was a fun build for me. Thanks for looking.
  14. I'm back to visit again ! Still one of my personal favs, I think the engine is what sets it apart from the rest. I love it!
  15. Pretty cool looking two seater!
  16. I love it the way it is! The skull on the oil filter is a nice touch. Nice photos!
  17. Pretty much what I'm talking about. I just don't have money to throw at the LHS to keep him in business, I'm retired! I try to do my part for him by bringing others to him.
  18. The only time I pay full retail is at my LHS. He offers 10% discount to club members but, usually forgets unless you ask him and I never ask. Last time he offered me a discount he took one dollar off a $25 model, do the math. Lol. I only buy new issues from him that I can't get any where else or when he buys collections I will pick out one or two. I like the swap meets and shows best.
  19. Thanks for all the kind words everybody!
  20. I like the chrome wheels, good choice for this car. Welcome back to the bench!
  21. I agree, single tail lights give it more of a Chevelle look. Nice progress!
  22. Nice job Tony! This is quite an effort in any scale with all the scratch building. I'm always looking for a replica of this famous car. I love your work!
  23. Nice and smooth and low, love the color and no hub caps necessary. The plain steel wheels in that color look good to me with the wide whites, and very period correct. That Cad engine looks good under the hood!
  24. This is my "50 Chevy pickup I just finished, pretty much box stock except wheels and decals. I lowered it useing stock suspension with lowering blocks in the rear and a dropped axel in the front. Engine wires were made frome stretched hot glue, a new technique I was trying. I can't seem to get good close ups on engines with my camera, still working on that. Thanks for looking.
