  1. oh ok. The trees are complete. I took the pics like that to get a reseasonable size compostion between the model and the trees. The pine trees are tall and would have to go back even more to get the whole thing. If you click on the link I posted in a previous post further up this thread, you will see the article I wrote, showing how I did it. I wrote that article back in 2002, so I have since found other vegetation to test out. But the former ones are still usable.
  2. Hi Paul. Sorry. Did not quite understand The question. You said, "How far up the tree did you go?" What exactly do you mean?
  3. Thank you Tony. Johann, my pleasure. Hope it helps.
  4. Thank you. Here is an article I wrote for Armorama, explaining how I did it:http://armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=2626
  5. Thank you Barbo. Appreciate your thoughts.
  6. Thanks David and Scott.
  7. Here are a couple of pics of a few added details and from another angle:
  8. Thanks for looking in fellows. Much appreciated. And you Ken for your responses on both boards.
  9. Thank you for looking.
  10. Thanks guys. Glad you all approve so far.
  11. Been working on this for the last 3 days now and this is what I put together. Hope you all approve. If you look closely you'll see some bird eggs inside the right side headlight. The wheel lugs or bolts are on the ground next to the tireless axle.
  12. OK Johnny. Thanks for the confirmation.
  13. Hi Jason. Thank you for your answer but I am still a little confused here. You said Franklin Mint got it wrong. Who is this? Do you have a pic showing the wheel and lug configuration , like what Andy posted above? A pic would say a thousand words. I'm trying to replicate this particular area as I will have one of the wheels remove on my build. I'm in the process of finishing off the chassi and I want to complete this area before painting.
  14. This is the LAV III that was previously posted at the beginning of this thread. It is now decommissioned as you can see for obvious reasons:
  15. Thanks for this pic but is this the right configuration for the VW in question? Johnny posted a pic of a lug in an earlier post. It is different thanwhat you just posted.
  16. Thank you kindly. That is exactly what I needed to know. btw, looking at the rim, it looks to have 4 mount holes but it seems to have 5 holes.
  17. Thanks. So can i assume that you mount the wheel using nuts to thread the rim to the threaded bolts that are already welded to the wheel? Or are bolts used?
  18. I am curious to know if anybody have any pics of the wheel mount of this vehicle? Like to see how it looks, like how many mount wheel bolts does it have etc.
  19. Thanks guys. Appreciate you took the time to view this thread.
  20. thanks Jim but these are no more.
