The Aston is done and posted in under glass now
-
Just finished this one up, It is Tamiya's Aston Martin DBS kit, I really liked this kit, and enjoyed building it, not problems at all with this kit. It comes with a nice little P/E set, as well the metal transfers . I could not get the ones for the engine to stay on. This was a OOB, I used Testors one coat lacquer graphite dust, and then clear coated with either the one coat clear or ultra clear lacquer, dont remember , I will say that I am very impressed with myself on this one. I did mess up a few things, and I did not do that great a job on the interior . Enough of my blah blah blah, here are the pics

Show us your Engines - Post Dedicated to the Engine

I will play, I have just done a few that I can post -
You guys have some great Ideas, a lot of what I would do as well, I really like a few from Harry , and Gasp, Ed as well. I also like think that doing polls on model sites is something they should being now. And just not on kits to re release, but on what new subjects to do as well. I like the Idea that Ed came up with, re releasing the kits that are sellers are trying to fetch a large sum for, some us that were not around when the kits first came out, are going miss out unless we want to fork out whats being asked for them.

Looking at some pics, the hubcaps from the 91 Caprice kit are close to the hubcaps that came on the 90's model caddy deville , so it could work, just need to make some changes to the outer part, the caddy hubcaps have wires on the outer part.

If you dont have plans for any of the lightbars that come with this kit, can I get one of them from you?. So Valspar paint is very weather sensitive I take it, good to know, HTPH? Edit, I have learned, ok well no because I still do it, but if you put the front and rear bumper piece's on before the body and chassis are one, it makes very hard to get the two together, and most of the times, the front bumper piece comes off. I would like to find an image of a 1:1 police car computer screen and then scale it down to fit the computer screen in the kit.

I use empty, or in some case's full cans of krylon spray to hold the bodys, I have found that its the only thing krylon paint is good for . I have heard people having mixed results using Valspar paints on models, looks like its working for you, I may have to pick a can up next time I am at a hardware store.

I think they come with the kit, I know the 70 challenger kit comes with gauge decals

New redesigned Viper is here
martinfan5 replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They were never apart of the Chrysler group, they were a part of GM, and before that they were built by the Am General corp -
So lets have a little fun here, dont you hate when you do something, or did something, and you want to do the forehead slap, or yell out DOAHHHH!!! Now this can be model related or not, either way, just keep it clean. I will start Dont you hate it when, you are in the car, and you plug in your music player to listen to a few songs, and then it hits you, duh!, I have not sync those songs yet Or same car trip, and you manage to grab the one none working lighter out of a pile of four working lighters, and there is not lighter in the car, ( note to kids, smoking is not healthy, do not smoke) Dont you hate when you, you have a very nice build coming along, and are in the final steps of getting it finished, to only mess something up, and you cant fix it, and just have to live with it. Before someone else post this, dont you hate it when you come on a model forum, and see threads that are none model related , so now that its been used, you can not use it So whats yours, (remember this is for fun)

So lets say tomorrow you wake up, and you are in charge of ( insert model company name here), what would change?. What is that the kit manufacturers do that drive you nuts, and have made you say to your self, if I was in charge I would change this. For me, I would find a way to make the engine block one piece, and no more axle rods through the engine block are just a few of the things, I know I will think of more, so what would you change?

Oh yes I forgot the yuppy buyers , I can see them complaining because there is not Icrap jack , the Viper was when it came out was IIRC, to be a drivers car. -
I would have either a DBS, or one of the other models, or both

I know Chrysler has been part European for a long time now, the last Viper was just made a few years ago, you are buying a car with a V10, the last think I am going to be worried about is the stereo that comes with it. People that bought Vipers did not buy them for the sound system. -
Inspection and registration
martinfan5 replied to hotrod59f100's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There is or was a license plate collection website that had pis of the window registration and inspection sticker for some states posted, but I think that website is gone now. Which would be perfect, all you would have to do is copy it then resize it. If you are trying to do it, maybe Google the state you want -
Well I really do you hope you change your mind and decide to make in 1/24th or 1/25th scale one day You should show this over on a police car forum http://diecastpolicecar.poliskarr.org/index.php
