I dont think it needs figures to be a diorama, I've discussed this heaps of times with other mates that model and even judges at various shows because the definition seems to vary a lot from builder to builder and show to show. I classify my model "Out to Pasture" as a diorama and it doesn't have any figures in it, but it has to much extra detail to be classified as just a base. A car on a plain base isnt a diorama but a base that enhances the model and tells a story is, same as you guys this is only my opinion and the rough guidelines I work off for my show.

We've got a few cars our family car and the wife's daily driver is a 2004 VY Holden Commodore wagon, my daily driver is a 1981 WB Holden panel van and we've also got a 1972 HQ Holden van in the shed. We're a Holden family through and through. My daily driver. (My WB van). One of our other vans, Checkmate.

Here's a couple of pics of a Dodge Zinger I threw together quickly as a bit of a drought breaker project. Nice fun build, quick easy, rushed job. Standard out of box except for the decals. Cheers Rob.

Here's a small diorama I finished about 6 months ago, building bases and dioramas is new to me, this is only the second one I've done but I learnt heaps along the way and enjoyed it heaps! It's the Revell Mustang, the base, tarp, fence etc is all scratch built, I've added barbed wire to the fence since the pics were taken to finish it off a bit. Cheers Rob

Thanks for the info guys, I've got a few things to tidy up on it including the gap near the grill! I've been trying to learn more about the VIT200's, I heard that each of the COE's and W900's were named after a state? And had a plaque with the name on it. Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah was thinking seriously about doing the matching set! They were such nice looking factory trucks. I wont rush the next one though.

Thought I'd share some pics of my MPC Vettevan kit I finished about 6 months ago. Paint is Tamiya clear Red over Holts Duplicolour Topaz gold, modifications include: different heads, fan, tunnel ram and carbs, aluminiun air cleaners, fuel lines, dissy leads and dividers and some other smaller stuff. Hey guys, I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd post up a pic of the last truck I built. It's a Kenworth VIT200, based on the AMT kit modifications include: chassis shortened, decals from Modeltruckin, rear mudflaps replaced with thinner ones, scratchbuilt mudflaps added to front and quarter guards, alloy tank steps, aerials added, custom number plates and deeper front bar. It's painted with Holts Duplicolour paints GMH Palais white and GMH Topaz gold for the chassis, I had to rush the build to have it finished in time for the NSW NNL Titles so there's a few things I could've done awhole lot better but I was really pressed for time to get it finished and on the table!
