  1. Congrats man! As a victim of parents who went through divorce after almost 20 years, it's great to see couples still sticking together and working through the tough times. Happy 38th anniversary and many more to come
  2. Same here... and I'm only 16... But to each their own I guess. I love LeMans/Grand Am style racing. I think it's much more "original" than Nascar... but oh well...
  3. Oh yeah I've done that with like adding smoke stains (best I can say it) from exhaust on military vehicles. It sounds like it's pretty much the same concept. Good point I should try that again with an extra engine I have. So just from what's been posted, it seems like really whatever you can use that has a small enough point for what you need is good like toothpicks, wires, etc...
  4. I thought I may as well create a topic for discussing different detail painting techniques since I haven't seen one. Just to share ideas, scenarios, etc... So, what do you use for the small stuff? For me... Just from what I've learned from my dad I've been using the best toothpicks I can find in the box I have that work with the size area/part I'm painting. I also have some smaller detail brushed... But their heads are still too big for the super small stuff. Or sometimes I'll keep the tip of a normal brush as fine pointed as I can and paint that way. That's me from my little amount of experience lol, what's yours?
  5. Wow... This just shows how much I need a job, I don't think my parents will buy me every kit I want to build, or any kit, all that much O.o lol It's nice I have my closet in the basement already "outfitted" for model stuff in a sense. I put 2 shelves up a couple months ago that I've been using for my scenery/diorama stuff. Once I get a better desk/table like those heavy duty plastic folding ones I'll move all my stuff from my paint booth in the garage to my basement and leave the booth for spray painting/dremel use. I have a desk in the garage... But I don't like having mice run by my feet lol Awesome stashes guys, you make a 16 year old jealous but at the same time aspire to strive. Even if it's just a stash lol
  6. The nice thing about this hobby is that no matter how long you're away from the bench, you'll never lose the skills you've built up. I'm only 16, building my first model in about a year, and I've learned so much already from this site and experimenting that I'll carry with me.
  7. I'll have to see what I can do about this but I may forget... lol
  8. That's an idea for me too... thanks!
  9. O.O Can I has a Viper? haha
  10. You had me beat... lol I have 3. But I plan on slowly building up. This hobby is a lot cheaper that collecting hockey cards that's for sure, and more fun
  11. Safety 1st! Lol Saw a 67 Corvette, one of my dad's friends actually. And one of our friends has a Hudson Hornet and is working on a 67 Camaro right now too I think.
  12. Sure I'll check em out! Drove by those Mustang Bosses and Shelby's again... 4th time this weekend. Lol
  13. Riders is an amazing store. Just adding that Hobby Lobby isn't bad either, they have a decent supply of model kits and paints, brushes, glues, accessories, etc... Anyway, welcome. I'm also newer so welcome to the club lol
  14. Yeah I agree I wouldn't say it's a rut, but more of a roadblock. I get those all the time, even on boring days where I'm at my computer just wanting to work on my model, but of course I can't bring myself to do it. Then there's days where all you want to do is sit at the workbench and build. Happens to the best of us
  15. I could use this too... I'll be keeping an eye lol
  16. Ohh... gotcha. Thanks for that, sorry lol
  17. Well for some reason my camera won't turn on minutes after I took pics, and since I'm at my dad's he doesn't have an SD card reader... anyway I painted some of my suspension (shocks are red) and the engine (red headers, rest aluminum) but since most of it was detail work it took a little while. I'll have to post up pics tomorrow.
  18. On the note of Corvettes... you do know Chevy is now gonna put a turbo charged V6 that rivals those of Porsche's in them right? Said they are supposed to hit 10k rpm and have 500hp or something. Idk something I saw on Yahoo a few days ago...
  19. Yeah hopefully the dispute case works out. I see this all the time with sports cards. Lamest excuse ever especially after you just paying him. You can print USPS and UPS labels right from PayPal for crying out loud lol
  20. Maybe interior door panels that glue into the door instead of the chassis. This would bean the body would have to come off easier in most cases instead of having to bend and flex the body to fit over the chassis. So annoying...
  21. Maybe once I get more money I'll hope on. Lemme see how things good after a while...
  22. Mirage: I know exactly the dealer you are talking about! My dad lived in Lowell for a while and we felt like checking the Mustangs out one day while we were with him lol
  23. And bit themselves in the arse in the process...
  24. Lou is gonna be pulled twice in this series... Calling it now. Boston, once they get going, is very... Very touch to stop. The Canucks have a decent blue line, but the B's have much more depth on offense than they do. Lou, like you said, is gonna lose his marbles. The winner of this series will also win the Vezina, gotta feeling.
  25. Someday I plan to find out how that is Yeah I plan on getting a Roush 427RX crate engine, stuffing it into a Mustang, and doing a ton of tuning up like the big Brembo brakes, a race tranny, an exhaust system that doesn't disturb the awesome sound of the crate motor, upgrading the sound system, etc... lol
