  1. Man if he only was still posting here... that would have been soooo helpful in this. Lol I'll see about scratch making some of it then. For what I want, it doesn't seem too bad, so I'm up for it. Thanks for the tips though guys. If you have any more "leads" it would be much appreciated!
  2. Nice kit! I've been painting most of my aluminum parts, so my parts don't have too much detail yet... lol This is what I have so far for the frame I need to add more bars to it, most like I'll make one that surrounds the driver like in most cars instead of just a A type one. I need to file down the joints too once I get done, but I want to keep them so they have that welded pipe look. As it stands it doesn't look exactly like a Grand Am/Daytona style car, but I hope to get closer soon I have more done of course, but this is all I took pics of as of now. I won't be home until Monday though to do any more work EDIT: I was looked around more for 1:1 comparison cars... I found this RC car That pretty much sums up what I want to do besides the decals, mine will be much more complete in terms of that. But the spoiler is exactly what I need... lol My little checklist per say of things to complete soon. - Lower ride height - Scratch build a small ground effects kit - Find paint color for exterior (I was gonna do a half aluminum half black combo, but I think I'm gonna use red or blue instead, the aluminum I got looks like chrome) - Finish roll cage
  3. If there's a game 7 it will end June 15 XD wanted the Bolts but anybody but Vancouver will do I guess... Good job both teams.
  4. Yeah... uh... does someone have Mark Twain on speed dial?
  5. Yep those are what I'm talking about! lol and for the small side windows on like a Roush Mustang GT. I haven't had any luck in finding skirts and fenders, but I have found some skirts and spoilers lol
  6. Thanks Cato! You should look into joining my racing community build btw, it should be good!
  7. Sounds good! Just don't forget to post what you're gonna make
  8. Thanks for that. I will look into expanding it more for sure. I have some more bars still but I gotcha. This was my idea I was going off of to start though I was just basing it on a more commercial roll cage, but after you showing me that site I will probably add more to it for sure. Thanks!
  9. For my custom '06 Shelby GT-H American Le Mans prototype, I'm making my roll cage form scratch of course. So, I'll post it below (as it is mostly complete) Here it is with my modded 2003 Revell Nascar racing seat I'll use too (I still need to find a way to raise it and what not) Comments and criticism would be welcome, I know I didn't give a full view, just more of an overview so you guys get the idea.
  10. Nope no deadline, and no limit to amount of entries either. This hopefully can become like a large photo collaboration after a while and I'll edit you in
  11. I kept in mind that I would have to probably consider opening it up to all forms... so I guess I might as well now. I'll fix the rules
  12. Much like other community builds, this one is more of a show off as well. No timeline for it, just as long as you stay in the requirements you're good to go! Requirements - Graphics cannot be out of the box (You can mix and match out of the box decals, but it has to be from your own vision, doesn't need to be much, but a number and 1 sponsor have to be visible) - You can use any type of racing - It can be any scale, any era, any make and model that is not excluded. You could make a custom 69 Camaro racer, or a Pagani Zonda. Use your imagination. Here is the list of entries. Just post what you are going to build and I will update this! Note* - When you are finished and post a finished picture of your car (as in taking one like this where we can see most of the car detail) I will put it in a spoiler under your name so viewers can see them better. Once we get a few finished models I will post the display thread in the "Under Glass" forum. You may also have as many entries as you wish, but 1 is fine too Entries The Snake 87 - '06 Shelby GT-H American LeMans protoype PeterC - Mercedes SLS GT3 W409 - '67 Dodge Charger D/Street Drag Racer Nick Winter - '78 Dodge D150 Baja truck
  13. Found them on this site http://www.speedcityresin.com/PartsPage.htm Just thought I'd throw that out there lol
  14. You know, as a young modeler I appreciate this and respect this. For me, I'll always be a work in progress, but I'm also 1 step ahead of the curve when I'm your age and say some of my friends start modeling, because I've already had years of experience in it. I'm a learn as you go also, and very visual, so if I have an idea I usually am able to create it. Like, I just got today a 06 Shelby GT-H from Hobby Lobby (half off ) and I've already started on my roll cage for it. I really wished to put my nascar engine I built up in it, but I think that's too much of a risk right now to mess with. I'll save it for a later project. My plan for this is to make it into a custom Le Mans type car. I'll be looking for decal sets later, I just want to get the basics done, and I'll be working on my roll cage for about a week I think. But, thank god I got gorilla glue 2 days ago. And that's just getting that built and sanded... painting everything is a whole other story. But I've had lots of practice and luckily enough tools and paints to put my skills to use.
  15. You can go with this! Or you can go with that...
  16. Trans Am? Well... Give Hennessey Performance a call and they'll hook you right up!
  17. I know I'm only 16, but I must say I do love classic cars. 60's Chevelles, Camaros, Mustangs, Chargers, and Challengers are truly icons of that era in my opinion... but for no good cars now? To each their own. I respect that. And if this thread was of more American cars I apologize too, but I think car designers are having a "renaissance," please don't mention the 90's
  18. Don't get me started with Quebec though... oh man the stories I have from others. lol
  19. I've looked around some custom aftermarket part sites I've seen people post on here, but haven't been able to find that I'm looking for. Is there a company (or person) who casts custom body panels like window louvers, side skirts, and racing bumpers? I have some cool ideas if I'm able to find any and include them in a build I'm planning on doing.
  20. Sad day in the hockey world for sure. The "Rapture" took a pro-destined goaltender in Ian Jenkins. 16 year old 2nd round draft pick of the London Knights OHL team. Some of my friends who I went to school with/played with Ian are having a very tough time. He had a very loving personality too, I wish I knew him. You would have probably seen him in the NHL in 4 or 5 years. Won a National Title with the Honeybaked AAA Midget team (my friend Alex Talcott was on it as well) and was part of the USA Hockey development program (considered best goaltender in the nation) Not only a sad day in junior hockey and in peoples' lives affected by this, but a loss of a prime prospect who was destined to be in the NHL. May he rest in peace and God's grace be with him and his family.
  21. Yeah he's the commander actually... lol no biggy though, thanks for the comments!

  23. Alright, here are 2 models I did. The tank me and my dad did together about 2 years ago, the Jeep I did by myself (not fully complete yet though) both are 1/35th scale. I plan on using these for a diorama later. The soldiers could use some work lol and the Jeep driver doesn't sit right (factory problem...) CnC would be much appreciated
