An added disadvantage for "rubber-like" tires is that you get just so many stock sizes to fit everything. There are way more tire sizes used everyday in 1/1 cars than there have ever been in 1/25-24 scale. That does not even cover older, obsolete sizes used in older cars. With plastic and resin you can produce whatever CORRECT or DESIRED size is needed cheaply and quickly. You "rubber" tire guys need to move on!!!

Crispy's photo is of Jim Mulligan's model. He is a member of my club RPM (rpmmodelclub.com)and we all saw Jim build it and the finished product. It is pretty slick. Another member of our club built one of the Top Studio chains for the Yamaha GP bike. They are pretty awesome. Having said all that, I think they are a bit too big to look in scale on a 1/16 or 1/18 Bugatti T59.

Nice midget, Big Guy! I think that was KG Models( Ken Glenn ). It was a terrible model to build. I think Ken was the only one who ever actually built one.

That is a trip, Man! A nostalgia trip! Very cool! There is an old Car Model Magazine from the early 70s in which Hank Borger shows how to do the "Swirladelic" paintjob. It basically involves placing the body in a bread pan and covering it with water. You then spray onto the top of the water the colors you want and using a stick, swirl them around until you get the desired effect. You then lift the body out of the water and the paint drapes itself over the body. A few coats of clear and wetsanding and polishing finishes it off.

Ann and I have been married 19 years and life just gets better with her each year that passes. We accept each other as the people we are and that makes it better! It's cool, man! English really sucks as a language. It's even worse when you have fat fingers on a keyboard! There is very little consistency to it. It's really a mongrel and getting worse all the time as we adopt more words from other languages and butcher them as badly as we do our own words. It's a wonder that so many people want to learn it. Good thing they didn't have a spelling test for "clearance"!!! You might not have received it! I hear that only about 750,000 people have top secret whatever clearance now! Wow! 11 people are reading this topic as I type! You have to admit it's good for ratings! Huh, Harry! I, too, got a PM from Jimmy. I didn't think it was bad at all. I responded to him in a fairly positive manner. My earlier post in this thread was a bit wise-cracky and I could see how it would annoy him. I don't see why anyone could become actually angry about anything in this or the similar threads that have been popping up lately. It's all garden variety personality conflict stuff. Not to get political but I think as we approach election time everyone gets real tense. I noticed this in '08 also. Everyone is worried that the end of the world is coming if the other side wins and they go nuts about anything!!
