And I built it! I was punking the Milwaukee NNL sub-theme of 18-wheelers. The body is a 1/24 Tamiya Mini and the rest is Monogram 1/32 Kenworth and Fruehauf. It's right hand drive, of course. The decals were Alps printed by a good buddy. It was a real quickie. I think it is the first spray can paint job I have done in 30 years. Rustoleum. It was fun seeing people's reactions to it.

the worst made cars on the road.........
Modelmartin replied to B_rad88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Especially so when the writer(s) are not knowledgable car people. Sort of like if I started writing articles about quantum physics. The articles are even worse if they don't like cars - sort of like me writing about right wing politicians! I don't even read articles in car magazines about Bugattis(the old ones) anymore. I have so much more knowledge about them than the typical automotive writer. They end up repeating old disproven "legends" about Ettore and his cars. It's funny that the worst Bugatti book ever written was by his daughter!! -
April Potpourri - Kits Scored
Modelmartin replied to Crazy Ed's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's actually not a very good kit. It is quite inaccurate and mis-shapen. The box-art on the Heller is very cool. Now you can get an empty heller box and stuff the Union kit in it! Preserve it as a Model Car artifact and build a Fujimi kit of that car. Crazy Ed, I do like your taste in kits. I have many of those same kits. -

Since Fiat now controls Chrysler I think you can say that there are a lot of Fiats on the roads here now! -
The T Fordor is likely a '26 or '27 when wires became available from Ford for the T.
-
The T bucket is definitely a Lindberg kit and it came out in about 10 different box art versions over the years. It had multiple building options (rod, custom, racing) and was quite nice for an inexpensive kit. Aurora is correct for the 32 coupe.

Harry. Measure the standover height which is floor to the top horizonatl tube. It sounds like it could be in range of my size. 27 was too tall for me. That bike may look good in my garage.

Prius Model Kit - Preorders taken
Modelmartin replied to Hornistfuller's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
You up for that, Billy? I think a double dragster frame from the AMT kit would work. Drop the Allison in it and carve out wheel openings for the slicks. It could be sort of like the Garlits Dart except with an Allison and a Prius body on it. How about hybridding the Allsion? -

Hey Billy, If you ever get the Prius kit I will GIVE you the Allison to put in it! I have extras. It would be too cool! Later, Andy -
I love the double duty pedal/kickstand!! I don't think you can lean this one over on corners while pedaling. Could get fun! And where do you grab on the handlebars? Where are the handlebars? It must handle like a front-end loader the way it is articulated. The fork? is so long and the head tube is vertical. I know it is a show only machine but it is still ridiculous because it strays so far from what a bicycle is. If they mounted it on a base and never pretended it could operate on the ground it would be more acceptable. Oh Well! Some think that grown men building little cars is crazy, too!

Here you go, man! No problemo. Deekshoonaree

You are a master of Emoticonese.

Therefore you is.

Isn't that like loud yet quiet? Unrestrained is a synonym for effusive. Somewhat contradictory, methinks. Your meaning does comes across, actually, I think. I was just having some fun wit ya! The thing that is crazy that there are enough of us left in this world to have fun with words and not have people impugning our personal character and ascribing nefarious qualities to our persona for doing so!... for a little while, at least.
-
Judging by the size of the front sprocket, I would guess the gearing is quite low. I would think that pedaling effort is moderate but forward progress is somewhat retsrained.
-
Harry, you are very shrewd to sense those qualities in Mark, and articulate in pointing them out in your subtle message which was, contadictively, somewhat demonstrative.

Will, Dave and Mark are amongst the best model car builders in the country. Their advice is sound. You do sound frustrated but keep at it. I have been building for over 40 years and I still run into problems. The other day I mixed up some different brands of lacquer to get an effect I wanted and I got something else which was disastrous! That model is in the trash! Most turn out fine. As far as decals go I have rarely ever had clears react badly. 2-3 days should be plenty of time to dry. Use decal setting solution. It helps the decals lay down on curves and shapes better and helps eliminate bubbles. Don't give up. You are investing in building up your skills and knowledge right now with the mistakes and it would be a shame to lose that investment.

That condition is reversible!

I heard a story from a guy who I worked with a few years ago. He did a little time for drug posession and was at a boot camp type place. One of the things they did was repaint bikes yellow for a bike loaner program. They had so many donated bikes left over they scrapped all of them. In a roll-off dumpster they loaded them with a loader and used the bucket to mash them all down flat so they could get them all in. I just about cried.

Schwinns are cool!

That was the Raleigh Chopper. I see them on Ebay occasionally. That's a tall Motobecane you got there, Stretch! I am 5'9" and don't think the seat could go low enough! Bummer.
