  1. I looked up fish names in Wikipedia and there is a Swallower fish!! I bet you didn't want to know that!!
  2. Then there was the (Fill in blank) Crappie! I always liked the Datsun humuhumu-nukunuku-apua‘a!
  3. Brian, In black plastic it is the US Airfix release of a Japanese kit, probably a Gunze Sangyo.
  4. Thanks for sharing that. I got to see the collection in 1991 when it was housed in an older building in Philly (I couldn't tell you where) and was so thoroughly impressed with this collection. Fred is a true connoisseur of sporting automobiles and I thought he was a heck of a nice guy. I would love to see the museum, now.
  5. I know. You'll be here all week. Try the veal. Tip the wait staff well. Groan.
  6. That is funny! For a while, there was talk of "Ebonics". I think we need to coin a term for the language that the poorly educated and apathetic speak. Any ideas out there?
  7. This is a stretch. Honda Pilot. There is a pilot fish. I know! Lame.
  8. That's the stuff, Darin. I like what you have there. There is something about Porsches that just appeal to me that Italian stuff doesn't. I thought Panamericana too the moment I saw your second car. I could see soaking them in silicon!!
  9. Your acronym spells P O S R C H E. C'mon man! If you are going to trash talk us porsche lovers, at least get it right!!!! But seriously, get lost!!! Seriously.
  10. Tamiya's 961 is very nice although curbside. Someone makes the decals for the Rothman's Lemans version. Strada Sports sells the decals and the Tamiya 961 is easy to find. The Tamiya kit comes with just plain markings for an earlier race(Daytona?) No need to deal with the awful zinc blob or the Gunze kit which has "issues".
  11. Here's my version of it. I started with a Heller and a lot of styrene and putty. I had a friend with an ALPS printer make the decals. Wheels and tires came out of parts box. I believe the car ran in Group 6 for the last year before the old numbered groups were eliminated. In the mid '80s I saw an ad for the car in The Robb Report. I think they wanted $350,000! The kit you refer to is a Matchbox kit that AMT sold over here in their own box and with L&M markings. The Matchbox version comes with Martini markings. If I remember right the AMT came with both decals because when Matchbox shipped the moldings over they were bagged with the decals. It is a nice kit if you can get over the scale. A friend in my club (rpmmodelclub.com) built this kit with Brumos markings and it is very nice! The UMI 917/10 is AWFUL! The master was sold to Formula Canada who did redo it and put it back out. It was definitely much better but still had a few issues. You may be able to find the Formula Canada kit easier. They were being sold on Ebay for a while for $75. by the maker.
  12. I will kack if Porsche runs a deisel!!!
  13. Any 917 is a favorite of mine. I have 20+ kits in 1/24th! Waiting for a 917PA. Any Porsche Racecar up to mid 90s is a favorite of mine. I am getting older and the new stuff doesn't seem to be so shiny to me! Any Tuner street car is good, too!
  14. Here is the link to the article. They have a short YouTube Video, also. NY Times article The artist stated that he explores “contemporary issues by deconstructing and recontextualizing iconic symbols to gain perspective and understanding about the world in which we live.” Isn't that what we do with model cars? At least the deconstructing and recontextualizing part.
  15. I asked my wife about the bumper sticker and she recalled it differently. Her heart isn't in it. Oh well!
  16. My Father in law who still lives there calls it "Yoopalachia"
  17. It still has way too many doors.
  18. I think they say "Say hey to da UP, eh! ". As for sending it to her, she would kill you. Seriously.
  19. I found this beauty in the New York Times. Most appropriate use for one of those piles of rubbish I have seen. If I have offended any Hummer owners----GOOD!! PS It's a stagecoach!
  20. But the second grammar and Natzi are both mispelled! I assume it was deliberate. I hope it was deliberate!
  21. Aha! I know of both of them but didn't realize they had a type number. You learn something new everyday!
  22. On a car?? I am not familiar with that. There was a 718. I know how they assign project numbers to every little project and some don't see the light of day or are just a transmission or something but I haven't heard of a 918. The Cayenne and Panamera are pretty awful but I suppose they want to get some yuppy cash in their coffers.
