I dug out an old photo album, and the car you are building did have very light blue interior. The old memory isn't what it used to be! It was the solid purple 56 that had grey interior, I should have looked before I posted. Curtis was killed in a plane crash Oct. 4 1970, he was only 46 years old. It was a sad day for everyone who Knew him! CHEERS! Tom

All you really need is the tape with a disc under it as that was about all you could see. If I remember correctly the car started out white and pastel blue. Dennis is my Cousin. His father was my fathers youngest brother. I'm quite a bit older than he is. Dennis' Father Raced NASCAR Sportsman todays Nation Wide Series, and held several Track Records. Growing up in the Lenoir Hickory Newton-Conover area with the Setzer Name Pretty Much Meant getting into Racing as most of the people we Knew Raced. CHEERS! Tom

Your doing GREAT on this build of a Kurtis Midget with V8 Sixty! The Midget that wouldn't Die, it first ran before WWII,and was still winning races in the late Sixties. There were a very Large number of them, so there is several examples of Famous ones to model and even more that were ran by people that never became famous, making this kit great for modelers, because you have a lot of choices when it comes to what your build will look like. Now if all of them could looked as good as yours! CHEERS! Tom

The work you did on the side trim is outstanding! I will be watching this build, as I remember the Car from my childhood. I was lucky enough to see Curtis Race on Several occasions, and When I started Racing He became not only one of my Heroes, but also one of my mentors. He Drove Hard And Live Live His own way! Here is a little Known Detail You might want to add, Curtis had a Silver Dollar that he would always tape to the dash of his race cars, he never would say why. It was always taped on the far left just below the drivers window when he was out on the track and he would remove it at the end of the race and stick it in his pocket. He also Insisted that a block of foam be fastened to the seat to keep him from sliding sideways in the seat. The Colour was a true Purple and White exterior with light grey interior. Yours looks Blue in the Photos you posted, The Interior , you have the purple and white exterior. Anyway Your Build looks Great! CHEERS! Tom

I did a light wash on all of the upholstery to bring out the detail, but for some reason it doesn't show up in the photos, I think I got my lighting too bright when I took the photos. CHEERS! Tom

I put a small drop of 5 min. Epoxy on each guage face to create a lens. You just put the drop of epoxy in the center of the guage faces and let it spread out to cover the guage faces then set it aside in a dust free place to dry. When it is dry it looks like glass. CHEERS! Tom

You could buy severa Crate Motor, V8s for the price of that Riley Head it is a very rare a sought after piece by car collecters, so Dear Old Dad would probably Kick Sonny Boys Behind so hard he would probably have to set on a very very soft cushion for the rest of his life! I saw a 31 four banger with a Riley Head Go at Auction Earlier this year for $73,000 It was on a Run in Stand so they could Crank it up. The Stand did not go with the engine! CHEERS! Tom

I have always liked the 510 and had one that I raced as an Amature in SCCA Sedan Racing in 70 and 71 when I could get enough money together to get to the races. CHEERS! Tom

Cool Idea, I have been thinking about doing a 4 Banger 32 Roadster, as an early 30s Gow Job. I have a 29 Roadster and all of the parts gathered and ready to Build it as a Riley Head equiped 4 Banger 30s Dry Lakes Car. I'll be watching your build, I like what I see so far. Are You using a Traditional Transverse leaf spring front and rear suspension? The four bar coil over suspension would look out of place on this build. CHEERS! Tom

I also Did a little weathering on the interior including a couple of oil spots on the driver side floor board. I will post more as I make progress on this build. I also have a thirties Gow Job Roadster, and A couple of others on the Bench. CHEERS! Tom
