  1. Thanks mike I appreciate it . I was going to bring up the fact that a 2jz can make more power on stock internals than a 502 but I didn't want to hear the arguments . My buddy has a 94 supra with complete stock bottem end and a bit of head work , exhaust , intake and a big fmic, and a good fuel set up , hks big single turbo (I think i was a t51r ) and he put down 804 rwhp . Now it fully built and a completely different set up and he dynoed 1084 rwhp .
  2. What are you talking about ? Paint is fine . The pics are bad cause of the back ground choice I used at the time . The black caused a bad reflection on the paint .
  3. What's there to explain ? This is not a real car it's a model . Thats the fun thing with a model you can do that ever you want with it . Keep doing what your doing it's looking good so far . Only thing I would do it add a bit more stretch to the tires . That's just me though .
  4. For me it was this site and all of the guys willing to help out . But it was one guy in particular ( Romell ) that got me really interested in taking modeling to a different level for my self. I came to this site and started searching for nissan skylines and found an orange r34 he had done and I was in awe with it and couldn't believe you could to that to a model. Then I searched through some of his photo bucket pics and found a purple one he had done . So I pm'ed him and asked a few questions about it and scratch building and how to open up a car and make door hinges and he was really helpful and that's what started me in the direction of becoming a better modeler. The things I've learned are to keep trying and ask questions if you have any. Someone is always willing to help you out on this forum. Dont take criticism to heart because people are only trying to help for the most part. My builds went from mostly box stock with after market wheels to builds like this
  5. nice clean build . colors sure pop .

  11. Thanks I'm glad you like it . I scratch made the air cleaner .
  12. heres a skyline that ive been working on for a few weeks now . i opened up the doors and made a roll cage , flocked the carpet and made some floor mats and racing harnesses . i also made the door panels look alot better than they do stock . i scratch built the intercooler and turbo and cut off the plastic fuel rail and made a new one from solder and made some fuel injectors. the color is candy red over champagne gold. there wheels are 18" model scientists work meister s1"S . i also made dome lug nuts for them .
  13. I just use 3m fine line tape and mask it then brush or spray it
  14. There are sets of wheels you can buy that have stretched tires aoshima makes sets with them
  15. looking good so far .
  16. nice clean build
  17. im glad you guy like the tutorial .
  18. I use 26 28 30 gauge beading wire from micheals wire for carb linkage . Just depends on the hole that in the linkage your going to use .
  19. I got it from Walmart . Homedepot also has it .
  20. You cant please everyone plain and simple . Theres always going to be haters and someone that feels the need to run the mouth over the internet. The way i see it is 98% of people seem to really like this build and can apperciate the work that went into it . Me being one of the guys. Its the work that you have done in the past and present that make me want to learn more about scratch building and take building to another level. Im sure there are some flaws here and there but who really cares its a model and not a real car. For his first time building a build from mostly brass and other metals it turned out awesome . another great build rom keep on doing what your doing .
  21. i put a how to build my intercoolers up the tip trick and tut section for the guys that aske me how i make them
  22. then i use flat black paint to make the intercooler pop out i just use my finger to to wipe the paint off leaving the grooves painted black then you have your self a nice looking intercooler
  23. cut the aluminum tube for the end tanks paint the intercooler and end tanks i paint mine silver chrome and the aluminum tube black glue the aluminum tube on the end tanks over the solder i use tin tape to make the hose clamps the cut 4 small pieces of beading wire for the hose clamps
  24. then mix up a small amount of the 2 part epoxy putty then roll it into a small little line then put the little strips on the joints of the end tanks i use a small paint brush to push it down and make it strait across the joint . u might have to use the knife to clean up the epoxy to make the joint the size you require the using the knife i lightly make small pits in the epoxy to make it look like it welded
