All of my large scale kits. I just don't have the space for them but had to have them because they were just way to cool. The biggest one I have is a 1/8 Trans Am. Can you say HUGE!

You make it all look so easy John. When I try to scratch build I am reminded how difficult it really is.

I bought that same kit when I returned to the hobby about 20 years ago. I remember it being a PITA way back then but I struggle through it to finish it off. I was very relieved to learn that not all kits out at the time were as rough as that one was. I hope everything works out with the flooding situation. It's just not right that someone else can cause that kind of damage to your property.

That is a cool little car. It's in great shape as well.

I really like the Revell 1937 Ford Pickup. Goes together very nicely and has some very nice details on the chassis and engine.

With all the greed and it's all about me kind of people in the world today, it is nice to hear a story like this.

Judging from the prices of the other models in his store I think it must be a typo. If not I have hit pay dirt, I have a few of those in the stash!

Not sure if it is rare, but I have quite a few Lindberg 1966 Chevelle kits in the stash.

Gone are the pocket change models. On the plus side kits are much better now than they were back in the 60s and 70s. I guess it is like everything else, costs to produce, market, and ship products are much higher than back in the day. I don't see any of the hobby shop owners that I know rolling in the dough. Their costs to keep the lights on are much higher as well.

What kit is it you are interested in? Academy has made some nice aircraft and armor kits but I'm not to sure about their car kits.

I enjoy building models of every genre. Cars, planes, military, ships, and n-scale rail. Yes, I know I am addicted to plastic formed into miniature versions of the 1:1 real thing. I can agree most people that build military aircraft and tanks tend to strive for accuracy. With n-scale (1:160) rail models there are some that are referred to as rivet counters. I have had people point out the inaccuracies with some of the locomotives or box cars I run where I could only see the offending part with a magnifying glass. On another occasion a neighbor of mine who builds military models (tanks, etc.) exclusively said to me in a condescending way he built aircraft models when he was a little kid. Meaning, aircraft are for little kids only. My point is, I build models of all genres to a level of accuracy I am happy with or to the best of my abilities.If there is an after market detail kit available for the subject I am building I may purchase it if I am looking to add more detail or trying to just taking my model to a higher level. Frequently I have used items found around the house or dollar store trips to incorporate into a model for added detail. I build for myself. Am I offended when someone points out a deficiency with a model I have built. Absolutely not.

I went yesterday coupon in hand but couldn't find anything I was interested in. Ended up leaving with nothing.

I share this same frustration as you Richard. I don't know why they bother putting stop signs up anymore. One addition to this is people who don't use turn signals. I swear it is a growing epidemic here. Irks me something bad!
