NO. It will be white with carbon fiber fender flares and spoilers.

There are few magazines that I buy pretty much every issue of. Street Rodder, Forza, Rodder's Journal, Model Cars and yes, that other magazine……And I don't subscribe to any of them. First of all there is some sort of mazochistic pleasure in going to the store looking for your magazine and finding out they don't have it and then going again a week later, 'till you get it. Then I think that altho it costs more this way, buying it from a small brick and mortar store is doing a good deed to your community. My local book store "the Book Train" carries all the magazines I care about except Model Cars. This store is very nice part of my neighborhood and I like having it two blocks from home. And if everyone just subscribes to their favorite magazines, they will most likely go out of business. My measly three magazines a month may not be much, but I like to think that I make a difference, as small it may be.

I like it. And what really makes it pop are those wheels in this color. I would have never thought that they would compliment a model in this color.

Honestly, I have no idea. Like I said, I bought the body impulsively under the affection of a T-shirt on someone's back. I actually never had the AMT body in my hand. All I can say is that I have three more Vickies in the works. One is the Phantom Vicky from AMT, built not far from box stock. One more of the AMT Pantom Vicky but with fenders and different top. And a B400, which is also a JF resin body. I want to make also a full fendered traditional (more or less) Vicky too and the AMT kit, which I understand will be reissued, would be the perfect starting point.

Next the fenders were glued on. This was not all that easy and a lot sanding and adjusting was necessary.

I want to make one more, but to scratchbuild it from styrene and to be fully detailed. I'll make it a roadster.

Ha!. Then I've had it all along. My hobby shop then is talking about I don't know what. They said they got it and it sold out. I thought it was some different special edition. Well, problem solved then. Thank you for the help.

Is this the latest contest annual issue, or is there something that came out after that? Because in 2010, there were two separate things. One was the Feb/March Contest issue and the other was called Best of Contests or something like that. Is this the case this year or the one on the picture is the one and only?

I went to the heartland nationals in 2011 (I think) and there was a guy infront of me when I got to the door that had a cool t-shirt with a highboy Vicky with big meats and headers on the back of it. It was orange and the drawing on the t-shirt showed it from a 3/4 angle from behind. This is what was the inspiration. Then at the show, I bought the resin body, because I knew I had to make a model like that. Then the body got put away at home and got all but forgotten. Then shortly after I joint this forum, there was a build challenge of some sort. A weekend community build. So what you see here was build in pretty much 4 or five days. I could not finish it for the community build because I had a huge flood in my house, but everything was painted and polished and pretty much done. It just needed to be detailed a little and everything to be put together. I am glad you enjoy it and would love to find out the person with the t-shirt to see how well my memory served me.

First order of business was to cut off the front bumper with a jeweler saw. Then I glued the rocker panels and the rear bumper, which are all original kit pieces. Gluing the resin front bumper was kind of tricky. After scratching my head a little, I decided to first glue in the headlight buckets, so I could use them to alight the front bumper. It worked out pretty good. And now I have a complete body to work with.

The body is Jimmy Flintsone resin. The frame started as the Phantom Vicky, but was then heavily modified to convert it to a dropped axle front and the rear suspension is scratchbuilt. Everything else came from the parts box. The color is Ferrari Rosso Scuderia. Thanks for looking

This was supposed to be a simple project that went a little bit further that it should have. (story of my life, lol) I just wanted to try a new masking method for flame jobs. Then I decided to brake up the hood, so machined my own aluminum air cleaner hats. The suspension is modified Aluma Coupe and the wheels are from the Smoothster kit. The front tires came from the Aluma Coupe and the rear ones are from a Tamiya F40, but they have been narrowed. The paint is some blue nailpolish. The flames are all painted and for them were used two different whites, two different yellows, bright orange and two different reds - all decanted from Tamiya spray cans. Everything was covered in 2k clear. I showed the model at Overland Park this year, so I thought it was cool to make a Kanzas registration plate with Heartland in it. Thanks for looking.
