  1. Honestly, guys, I don't know who the kit is made by and how much did it cost. It was sent to me from my customer, who commissioned the build. I had to find the Fujimi kit, which surprisingly was not that simple. It came from Hobby Japan and was just under $50
  2. A regular customer of mine asked me if I could convert a Ferrari 458 into the one Liberty Walk tuned up. I gladly took on the challenge and ordered everything that was necessary. The base for it is the 1:24 Fijimi model of the Ferrari 458 Italia. This is what is in the box. Over all very promising looking and typical Fijimi. This is a transkit that I am going to use. It came from Honk Kong and it includes a new front bumper, new front lip, rear wing, wheels and tires, side skirts, rear diffusor and the four fender flares.
  3. Hi everyone. Not only my hobby shop is about 100 miles from me, but they….well……not very happy... Anyway, I have great trouble getting magazines where I live. There are a million and one magazines about mountain living or how to paint my kitchen around, but nothing about models. However, I have somehow managed to collect all the Contest Annuals from both model magazines for the last 10 years or so. Now I am having really hard time locating the 2014 issue of the Model Cars contest annual. Can someone please help me get one! TIA
  4. I bought one today (well yesterday already) from my hobby shop. Hobby Lobby did not have them yet. I have it opened and just need to upload pictures.
  5. I just bought the kit few hours ago. I will post pictures.
  6. As far as I know this is at least the third time this kit is coming around. I remember building it in the mid nineties, when it was black with all the chrome done in gold. I think it was reissued under the Good Guys banner about 10 years ago. The box art was a red model with the parts done in chrome. This one I believe has a slightly different engine, but I may be wrong. In my opinion this builds from the box as the best and most modern model T street rod.
  7. Has anyone seen these in stores yet? They are all over fleabay
  8. The easiest way to do it, but not the most inexpensive, is to get the mask done for you. Basically you want to first paint the bottom of the truck the darker color, then mask off what would stay dark and then spray the lighter part. So you go to a place where they make vinyl stickers and lettering. Some malls have little carts that do things like that. Get the kid that works there to make the mask for you from vinyl. You need to make a template of the entire surface from masking tape first and then give the person at the sticker shop the template and a picture of the design. It will probably cost you about $20, but worth every penny. Basically you want a sticker of the flames, but when they clean up the sticker before applying the transfer sheet, the actually remove the flames and leave the surrounding material.
  9. I love it. There is nothing more I like, than seeing various things from around us that were not intended for models to find their way to a custom, fun build.
  10. Thank you guys.
  11. Thank you for the kind words. It is a 1:18 Hot Wheels car. The photoetch came from a guy in Germany. He does post on e-bay under Tremonia
  12. Thank you guys. Here is the model with the real thing it was modeled after.
  13. If these wheels are Pegasus, then they are mated to the outer rims of another wheel. I was asking what exactly they are, because they fit the Aluma coupe tires so well
  14. Lets revive this….. The model is finished. Enjoy the pictures and thank you for looking.
  15. Really cool. What are the rear wheels from?
  16. I love the gold color.
  17. Absolutely stunning job on the exhaust.
  18. Thanks for all the great comments guys. The brakes were shot yellow and some Ferrari photoetched emblems were applied. All the ugly, sloppy moulded plastic grilles were replaced with photoetched ones too.
  19. The engine also received some photoetch, paint detailing and carbon fiber.
  20. I love the color. Make the interir chocolate brown. I think it will compliment the exterior quite well and it will keep it somewhat unusual.
  21. Thanks guys. Here are the door panels as they came on the model. Everything in the interior was in that ugly gray plastic. also the steering wheel cluster was a little modified. The paddles were thinned and slightly reshaped. The headliner got a little destroyed, because it was riveted to the roof, so I had to rebuilt it in the middle. Here is what the dash looked like just after been painted black The dash after receiving its carbon fiber trim. The interior all done.
  22. Cool, but only one picture? No fair!
  23. At first I asked myself "how to hell did I miss this thread?" And then I was : HOLLY THREAD RESURRECTION BATMAN!!!!
  24. The seats got painted with some yellow inserts to match the exterior. They look way better in person, but still need some touching up here and there.
