  1. This is the re-issue kit. Built the original one 30 years ago and quickly discovered it did not have the same durability as the tv versions always seemed to have. Ahh, to be young and stupid again... Anyway, since there is really no wrong way to build these cars unless you are targeting a specific episode, I have decided to build it to a more streetable level, then its Nascar underpinnings will allow. So I bought a big piece of sheet styrene that is the same gauge as the car and the cutting and sanding has begun. I have mocked in rough wheel house inserts for the front fenders and have started cutting and shaping an actual engine bay that will also include only part of the engine cage, simply to house the dual shocks. More to follow.

Agreed, clearly one of the ugliest cars Chevy ever made, and who's idea was it to mount a radio sideways ( the c-2 vettes get a pass)? However, I learned to drive on a V-6 version of one of these things and they were FAST. They would smoke a V-6 Camaro and that is part of the reason they got dropped by GM. Or so I was told... VERY realistic looking model. I would be proud to display it!
  3. Well, it won't be as detailed as yours. I sprayed the interior black, yesterday, just like it was when it was new. I'm keeping the original wheels/tires and just detaing them a bit and not doing anythig with the engine or interior. Basically a nice paint job and quality decals.
  4. Beginner?? More like, "same church ,different pew". Your cars look great.
  5. Got it fixed, thanks Andy.
  6. My avatar pic is displayed in the upper right corner of the home page, but not in my posts. Am I doing something wrong, or is this part of the "new guy hazing period"? Thanks in advance.
  7. Rick, I am currently building one of the re-released 1/16th Dukes Chargers. As you may know, it is essentially a Nascar race car in sheeps clothing. I am building it to more closely resemble a street verison, albeit modified as well. I am looking for a scale, round open-element air cleaner, wipers and fuel filler door. Any parts like that in your inventory or perhaps a line how I could get them, if they exist? Thanks in advance.
  8. This is the Hobby Heaven 1970 Ford police car kit. Aside from the beacon and scratch built antenna it is mostly box stock. I also changed out the grossly skinny original tires for a little more beefy version. Oddly, the kit comes with a Boss 429, which I retained, as opposed to a 428CJ or even a 390. The biggest mod on this car was the bumper/grille section, in which I sanded down the chrome strip across the top, that is supposed to emulate the chrome strip on the leading edge of the hood and fenders. Painted in authentic automotive grade colors and clear. Thanks for looking.
  9. Great looking car and nice job on the paint. I am currently restoring a 1/24th diecast Revell version from 1992 and have similar methods for my paint jobs. I hope mine looks as good as yours when I complete it.
  10. Hello all, new to the board so I thought I'd say a quick hello. Live just outside of Boston. I build any scale, metal or plastic, whatever strikes me. Nascar, policecars (mostly Mass Sate Police)streetrods, muscle cars etc. In progress, I currently have a 1/16th general lee project that I just started, a 1/24 Diecast Revell Davey Allison race car resoration and two MSP units, a '50 tow truck and '72 Dodge Fury, both in 1/43rd scale. I have attached just a few samples. The first is a greelight SHO Taurus, then a MMX Diplomat, an Action 1/24th Gordon car, that I re-did for my son as the 2002 Pepsi 400 car and lastly a '77 Monaco unmarked cruiser with a transplant Hemi. Take care.
  11. Wonderful job as always Zoli. (aka 2blu4u)
  12. Hello gents, New to the board today, but a frequent flyer on a similar Nascar and Diecast Police car board. I have just started to work on this kit and built the original one about 30 years ago. It is the same kit, save for the molded white body, as opposed to orange. In terms of accuracy, it is grossly lacking from the tv version because it is basically a carry-over from the petty racecar. However, it was always touted as a former Nascar racecar and during the shows run, despite its street car appearence, was considered to be Nascar Circuit ready. We all know different, especially if you are a long-time Nascar fan, as I am. Anyway, I am building this car to have a more streetable appearence, with some racing goodies thrown in. I am fabbing up an engine bay that will also contain some of the chassis and suspension bracing. I will also attempt a back seat and center console. I have already fabbed up rough wheel house inserts to correct the front fender openings. I am going to add a full exhaust system and try an come up with a solution for a rear view mirror(s)and wipers.
