Today I got tetanus/diptherria and meningococcal shots. Last week was typhoid/yellow fever and I have started the hepatitis shots as well. We are going to Uganda to meet the children we sponsor.

Picked this up today at the local op shop (thrift/goodwill store). It seems complete, but is missing instructions, so I can't see if it is complete or not! All the bags are stilled sealed and it has 10 tyres, 2 axles and the decals. Don't know if I want to build or trade... This pic is just a quick look at what I have picked up over the last few months. Dracula was only $7.00 with free postage, couldn't resist. and I also grabbed 8 of the Revell engines parts packs. One will go into the '32 ford.

Vintage texaco Station
groo12 replied to groo12's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'll print it out at work on the laser and mount it on some foamboard I have. -
This came up on a paper model list. Looks like it would make a great backdrop. http://papermau.blogspot.com.br/2012/11/texaco-vintage-sevice-station-paper.html

I fell in love with this, when I first saw someone else's build on the forum. Really enjoyed building it.

Awesome colour. I think I'll 'borrow' your idea for one of my projects.

Thank you on both counts. I'll grab that kit and have a crack at it.

Here is another one. And one more.

I am thinking a Revell 32 5 window coupe.

What kit would I start with?

Different EYE CANDY

Jaw droppingly cool. I am constantly amazed by people's talent and imagination and then the skill to put them together and create their vision. -
Just wanted to share something I've been working on. Hope you enjoy.

How do you open paint jars?
groo12 replied to groo12's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some awesome ideas there. I think I'll be purchasing a jar opener, way easier to get than firearms in Australia (sadly!) and I have spent way too much on dental to risk my teeth. In the meantime it's off to the sink for me. I like the idea of opening jars with a pistol, reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Homer does that and turns out lights with it. Would be an interesting paint effect! Thanks to everyone for the great ideas and quick feedback. -
I have a few paint jars which I cannot open. I can loosen the lid with a small screwdriver. Is there a better way. (I am assuming there is) Thanks.

Cool, I'll follow you as well. -
I picked up my first copy today. Go to bergs hobbies in Parramatta and he has them in stock, plus it's a great hobby shop.

Stunning. I love learning from others and being inspired by others. It is also very cool when someone says that you inspired them, that has happened to me a couple of times and I remember each one vividly. This comes up at work on our intranet occasionally: Learn from the mistakes of others, you don't have time to make them all yourself. Or something along those lines.

I used Photomatix HDR. It really needs to be redone as there shouldn't be that slight halo around it. I really love how it brings out the texture of the rust. Here is an example I am really happy with and that has had over 1000 people have a look. http://www.redbubble.com/people/groo12/works/6281559-only-one-owner-46-chevy Any questions, please ask.
