Who offers the best mail-order models?
groo12 replied to Joe Nunes's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have used Amazon and Ebay. Was amazed Amazon did plastic kits, I got a Revell model for 27 including postage. The usual price in the shops here is 42 to 65, depending where you go. I also found it a lot easier than EBay, no bidding etc, and it was also cheaper. I wil be ordering from them again.- 26 replies

Revell 50 ford f1 pickup 2 in 1

Awesome, thank you. Really helps, the instructions were a bit vague plus I'm not really mechanically minded, for cars anyway. Another question, it looks like the ends of the tie rod are glued straight onto the, whatever it is ey are glued onto. My tiered arm ends have a plastic extrusion about 3mm long, should this be clipped? Do you have a side view of the assembly? Thanks again. -
Hey guys, I have started this kit and I am a bit stuck and was hoping someone had a pic to share. I have googled and searched these forums and can't find what I want. I can't work out how the tie rod attaches to the front suspension. It might seem basic, but I would appreciate a pic or explanation of what/how it attaches, thanks.

I really must stop looking at awesome builds and deciding I want that kit too. My list gets londger and longer. your build looks just awesome.

That looks great, the green is stunning. I didn't know it was a bad kit, I hadn't read any reviews. Don't feel so bad now about the fit issues I had. It probably wasn't me. Still had a ball building it!

Thanks for that link, it's exactly what I am after and being a whole kit, makes it easier. But my wife just lost her job, so it will have to go on the backburner for awhile. Lucky I have a stash to carry on with.

More searching. I think it is the Monte Carlo rally 2008.

I have found a picture of a rally car that I want to build. The car is a Ford Focus, but I don't know what rally the photo is from. This would be my first foray into aftermarket and I am unsure where to start. I have tried searching for decals, but haven't had any luck. Any tips would be appreciated. I picked up this: It is complete and still sealed. Is $3.00 a good price?

It took about three nights work. I was disappointed as they were wrinkly and not tight, but in the morning what a difference once the setting stuff dried. It is very cool.

I was wondering about that, I'll give it a go.

Some more progress Next up is the dash!

That's what attracted me to this kit in the first place, it literally jumped off the shelf, screaming "build me" Thank you

Tamiya '95 Toyota Celica GT WIP in "Hawaiian Orchid"

That's something I never, ever thought about with the colors of cars. -
That is fantastic.

Looks really good.

This was a lot of fun to build and got me over fear of applying decals! The front grill is out, my fault, I didn't realise another part had slipped whilst the glue was drying. What did I learn? Decals are fun as long as you use the setting solutions and the teeny weeny decals can disappear before your very eyes as they fly from the tweezers and yet reappear a week later, close by. Happy with how it turned out, although the front grill looks a bit rough and the rearview mirrow ended up at a crazy angle. I am sure that is how the driver left it

That looks fantastic. Mustangs are my fave car.
