  1. Those Hudson's are simply awesome. I have one in my stash to build. I also love the track toy, the green looks fantastic.
  2. How did you post that? I searched the forum and couldn't find instructions, I probably used the wrong search terms.
  3. The wood is done with Citadel colours and washes, great easy effects. I copied the colour scheme from the box, just looked cool.
  4. Thank you. It's my first finished, I have 4 others on the go. I got the paints I was waiting on yesterday, so I can look at finishing some of these as well. I am not new to modelling, I have painted miniatures and made scenery for years. I have made lots of paper models of various things, but decided this year to get into car models, purchasing an airbrush, and various supplies as well as a few kits on our holiday in September/October. I learnt so much working on them, including BMF is fun! They have all been stripped at least once. as I am working out how to airbrush and have a much better handle on it now. The whole paint thinning/pressure/distance from model is coming together and can only improve:-) What I want to do is have a go at weathering, but thought I should be able to build straight from the box first, so my first few will be done that way.
  5. Whoo hoo! I have finished my first model. After being stripped a couple of times, running out of paint and having to wait, it is finished and i am fairly happy with it. This is my first attempt at airbrushing, bare metal foil and building a styrene model in general. C & C welcome. Started a Photobucket account today, so I can easily share pics.
  6. Thanks for that info. I have seen them a couple of times and naturally wondered. Paint didn't arrive yesterday so still waiting to finish mine.
  7. Excellent work. As soon as my paint arrives, I can finish mine. Ran out with only one panel to go, the joys of learning. I am going to show my ignorance, but what is that hanging on the outside of the window? Thanks.
  8. They are simply amazing.
  9. I love rally cars. Just won a peugeot 405 (tamiya) kit off eBay But this focus looks awesome. The first couple I build will be stock, then try some weathering...
  10. Yhey are both very classy. Love the side opening lid, never seen that before.
  11. Just beautiful. The stuff in the boot suits it to a t.
  12. Excellent model. I am looking forward to posting my first build...
  13. Sory to hear about your dad. I don't have any advice on models for you, but I can recommend a book you might like to read. It is called "The brain that changes itself" by Norman Doidge. It examines cases where people have had differing sorts of brain damage and how via differing exercises their brain has learnt to use different parts of itself to bypass the damaged section. Fascinating read and what you are doing with your dad it just the sort of thing to help him. I have only just started it myself, so the explanation probably isn't the best.
  14. Awesome. I love an old truck.
  15. Amazing, I saw a 1:1 today in Mt Druitt, NSW. It was purple. Great looking model!
  16. wow!
  17. Awesome. Heaps of character.
  18. That's a cool idea, I'll add that to thelist to try.
  19. Tried using the blue painters tape and it works brilliantly to hold lots of tiny bits and pieces. Thanks guys for the advice. I am sure I'll have more questions as time goes by. Looking forward to posting my finished model.
  20. Thanks for the replies. I'll try those things.
  21. I've watched his vids and bought his book. I can't remember seeing specifically holders for small stuff. Plus it's always good to see what different people use. I'll have another look, when I get home. For some reason I.T. block Youtube, wonder why.........
  22. I have just started using my new airbrush and I would like to see pics of how others use thiers and what sort of things you use to hold different sized model bit, especially small bits and pieces.
  23. I got dr crankys book! Looks excellent and will make great reading on the looong flight home.
  24. I want to see a close up of that welding mask. It looks funky.
  25. Just ordering the Dr Cranky book. All going well it will be at the hotel when we arrive next week.
