  1. Clay, my Bro, when didja chance yer Name? I wasn't sure if we had 2 Clay's or not. Let me look an hopefully I can find the catalog that I bought my earthmoving eqip. from, an I'll send ya the addy. But they're NOT cheap! I think I paid like 35/ 40.00 bucks just for the BoBCat.
  2. Well Danner, this is another fine job you've gotten us into! But for the life of me, what were you thinkin man, puttin a FORD engine inna Chevy???!!! But I do gotta say, it looks durn good in there. I lileses it, even if it is Chevord!
  3. Hate to sound like a foo, but weren't the spoilers on the 70 442, an 70 Judge completely different? The GTO spoiler went down on the ends towards the trunk, an the 442 spoiler ends curved up away from the trunk. At least thats the way I remember them, but I'm an ol fart, an mebbe I'm the one who's wrong( but I don't think so).
  4. When? "Cool Hand Luke" can't be gone. When did it happen? I haven't heard nothin on the TV, or the radio. Man, What a BUMMER!!!!
  5. Yeah Bill,Steve, It may be a bit of cuttin involved, but this way I dint have to cut up 2 bodies. Besides, this is the kinda stuff I like to do, just to see if I can.Yeah I know, I'm kinda twisted that way.But wot the hey, it's ONLY plastic.I DO likeses that 66 body though, an mebbe I'll be pickin that rascal up, cause I can already see a 455 sleeper in it!
  6. Dro, Using a 1/25th scale ruler, measure from the rear Backlight lower trim 6 in, this will be your 1st cut. Cut down verticaly till you are 3 in. from the center sculpture line that runs the length ot the car. if you turn it over and look, it should have cut the interior locating posts exactly in half. Now, make a horizontal cut 2 1/2 ft(to scale)towards the front of the car. Now, cut UP from the rear wheelwell thru the sculpture line to meet the horizontal cut. you now have 2 peices of body. remove 6 scale inches from the trunk lid area, and the same amount from the area over the wheelwell area of the same peice.Glue the rear peice back onto the body.Re-enforce the back of the cuts with 10 thous..sheet plastic. The body is now(or should be) the proper length for a Catalina. From the REAR edge of the doors, measure 1 1/2 ft(to scale) and using a moto-tool CAREFULLY grind the front of the rear wheelwell to shape. You'll see what I mean, once it all starts coming together. Not alot of work, just some careful cutting an measuring. It(mine) came out pretty good if ya ask me. The chassis will need to be altered likewise, but thats not hard either.ALL in all it's a pretty easy conversion, but I think AMT shoulda done it for us!!!Now, the only problem is the rear taillights must be made SHORTER, because the Bonney's taillights are too long.(3sections, as opposed to 2 sections for the Cat.) If I wasn't so stupid, I could post pics so you could SEE how I did it, But....... Either way, try it , it's not hard and it does make the difference.

Cyclone Headers, Dual Thrush exhasts, an MAS Traction Action traction bars. This was my 1st REAL car (that I pickedout an made payments on,18 yrs old with a car payment of 48 bucks a month.) I had to sell it when I enlisted because Theresa( Wifey Pooh) Couldn't Drive a stick. Not then, at least.But.... 23. Welcome Ramcharger!(Nice snappy name!) You just made a great entrance with your little ride, and hopefully alot of fans too! I know I like it! You'll like it here, caz everyones pretty easy to get along with. Post some more pics, an maybe some WIP pics(I love those) So we can see just how you build such great cars!
  24. John, A personal freind of mine,Bill Coates, Built the 49 Merc that sits in the Henry Ford Museum, In Dearborn Mich. named "Sweet'n Low". He used the stock windsheild, "VERY carefully cut" and butted the center ends, and sealed with silicone. He wouldn't use Lexan as he said the car was meant to see daily use(which it did, till he donated it to the museum) and normal wear an tear of daily use woulda ended up scratchin and messin up the looks of it. I don't know what other custimizers use, but, when done properly, his version show no signs of leaking or wear. And it still looks good!
  25. What, you mean our resident Ferrari Freak Nick(F-40) ain't seen THIS bad boy yet? Shiiiii.... When he does he'll probly be the next one to post in WIP pics! Beautiful car, but then again it IS a Ferrari. Please keep us posted on this build, caz I think it's gonna be a killer! BTW, How much was it, after all the postage an stuff?
