Color on the 1967 Hemi Coronet. Next will polish after paint sets put for about a week then apply the white textured paint to the roof for the vinyl top.
-
Thanks...I will just polish the silver paint, no clear coat. I want it to look like factory applied paint.
-
Thanks Mike....The carbs are from Fireball Modelworks. They are the correct models for the street hemi and 440 and race hemi.

I have about 8 of Dick Landy's cars planned for builds
-
From the photos that I have seen it appears that the intakes and possibly the water pumps were black on some cars. Some of his cars also have black painted engine compartments. As far as the AWB 1965 Coronet, I was fortunate to get the last available one from Speed City Resin. It is an excellent kit, the casting looks like an injection mold. Not sure if he will be doing any more. The kit currently shows Out of Stock

Here are the starts to the engines. Very early stages not detailed...yet. Painted Mopar Hemi Orange and Turquoise. The 1964 426 cross-ram race hemi has the Landy signature black painted intake manifold. The 426 street hemi and 440 will go into the 1967 Coronets. Carburetors are from Fireball Modelworks After these there will be the 1965 altered wheelbase Coronet, the 1968 440 Dart and the 1968 Hemi Dart.

Peak at some Super Stocks under construction. The silver car is a 1964 Dodge 330 Super Stock 426 Hemi. Alan, take note of the two Coronet Super Stocks, both blue with white vinyl tops, one a 440 and the other a 426 Hemi.

The traction bar is visible in the photo you have. These are longer than the kit supplied ones and would require scratch building to look correct
-
I think the valve covers would be a choice and ether would be correct. I built my Brannan car with the Thunderbird covers since I had photos.
-
This car the same maroon as the Thunderbolts ? - No it is Heritage Burgundy. The T-Bolts were Vintage Burgundy
-
The blue car that you see in the photo of Ronda's car on jack stands I believe is Ritchey's Viking blue car. See the reverse traction bars like the Ronda car.
-
Like the Brannan car, the Ronda car is one of the 5 pre-production 1963 Galaxie Lightweights, I would assume that it would have the "Thunderbird" valve covers initially. However, they may have been switched out at some point. I would also point out that Ronda's car was originally Viking blue when it left the factory. When I build mine I will have blue overspray on the underside floors in addition to some of the burgundy. On the Ritchey car that I have under construction, I put the 427 valve covers on

John, that Council Bluffs dealer was McIntyre Olds Cadillac Another Council Bluffs new car dealer was Floyd Hughes Chevrolet. I do know of a 1966 Chevy Biscayne 2 dr post, dark blue ordered with the 427 425 hp engine, M21 4speed and 4.10 gears for dealer inventory. Local guy raced it. It is now restored and in New Zeland.

Automatic. The automatic behind the optional W72 400 cu.in engine had some enhanced internals, increased shift points and an 11 inch higher stall torque converter. In 1977 this combination was good for mid 15 sec @ 90 mph in the quarter mile off the showroom floor. High 14's were possible with open scoop and dropping the catalytic converter. Slow by todays standards but impressive for mid 1970's standards.

Sorry no new updates yet

Yes, in addition to Fords I am also a Pontiac guy too. I have owned this one since new. It was ordered on Dec 29, 1976 and took delivery on March 18, 1977. This is an original 11,000 miles unrestored factory original including factory applied lacquer paint and tires. The car was ordered with the optional W72 400 cu.in. engine and is a factory aluminum wheel car. Thought you might like to see what a new, original 1977 Trans Am looks like. 2013 World of Wheels Best in Class Winner. Will be at the 2018 World of Wheels Omaha, NE in March

Ben, I have cut away some of the center section of the seat and will use half round Plastruct styrene plastic to create the pattern Vinnie....close up photos show that the top is vinyl
-
Steve, I plan on using the vinyl roof material from Model Car Garage. This is the same material that I used to replicate the rubber mat on my 1963 lightweight Galaxie
-
That's cool Tom

The kit I bought off ebay. Thanks Tom, this will be a bit of challenge, more so than the 63 Galaxie's
