59 Impala

Sorry, I thought that I posted pictures of the build. From what I understand, the decals that I used are the wrong color. In the picture the color is Blue and I used Red. Also, the lettering on the car looks like they are Black. Here are some pictures of the one I built. I have another car and thinking about building it with Blue coves and interior and Black decals. I do need a stock hood for the car though and I'm looking for one. It has to be the MPC kit, also under the AMT logo, although AMT made a 60 Corvette and it is not compatible with the MPC kit. I have an AMT kit and the hood is smaller.

Does anyone make the Canadian Acadia conversion parts for the 66 Nova kit? I have the resin 2dr sedan body and the Nova kit, but need the parts to convert it to the Acadian Pontiac. I want to build the Knafle Pontiac 67 Acadian "Tin Indian". Thanks. Dan

Well, I guess these are going in their boxes for awhile. The decals are BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. I did paint the Red stripe on top of the body lines and most likely will have to do the same with the rest of the Red stripes and I'm not in the mood for that right now.

Thanks Mike. I have built the two Knafel Pontiac's 66 "Tin Indians" all ready and would like to finish both of these. I think that I've vented my frustrations and got myself back to some kind of normalcy. I have calmed down and I will try and finish both of these cars. Time will tell. Again, thanks.

This build has been so stressful that I'm reluctant to build the White one. I will build the White one but it will be after I calm down from this one. I'm hoping that the decals will be Ok for the next one cause I don't have another spare kit to rob from. Did I mention that I got stressed out over this? LOL. I have started building the 32 Cadillac to take my mind off of this for now.

I got so frustrated today with the decals for this car that I installed the wrong one on the left door. I tried to remove it but no dice. These are the worst decals I have ever come across. Some of the other decals have started to fall apart. Bummer.

All I've got done on this car is what you see here. These decals are a pain in the Butt to install. The left front fender decal is trash and the Red decal for this door is trash and I hope that when I open another kit for the decals they will work. I sure hope so cause I want to build both cars and you need two sets of decals to build both of them. I need to take a break from this cause my eyes are crossing. Ha ha.

I know it's been a long time since I posted anything for this project, but I'm getting back to them. Today I tried to install the decals on the black one and the first decal fell apart, so, I've sprayed the rest with aa clear coating and will try again tomorrow. These are the original kits and so I'm going to have to open another kit for just one little decal. BUMMER.

I just measured my 61 Buick Special wagon and the ports are the same size that you have posted here, so, they should work.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. This was in pretty good condition when I got it and didn't need a lot of work to get it finished. I'm always looking for the original issue of these cars because of the parts that are in the kit and the reissues are missing most of what is needed to build them. I have used most of the parts from the 64 Impala to build the reissued 63's because they share the same parts like the firewall, chassis and engine. Also, on the 63 I drilled out the tail lights and inserted resin ones that I made. I might build Junior Johnson's 63 NASCAR if I can find another 63 original kit to start with.
