  1. You can stand me up at the gates of Hell & I won't back down.

  2. Also just for the record, I didn't address anyone specifically in my first comment. If you're feeling "guilty by association" that's on you & not me sir.
  3. Funny, I was thinking the same thing, but I figured if I posted about it, my comment would be deleted, (per usual). Nope, nothing wrong here.
  4. We must become the pitiless censors of ourselves in order to get along here.

  7. That's the usual way of doing it & it works well. You can also try a few drops of Pacer Z-7 superglue debonder, or any other superglue debonder, as those can also work on regular glues. I'd first try the superglue debonder in a section that won't be seen after re-assembly, (such as a seat in an interior bucket), just to be on the safe side. For really stubborn places, use a very sharp #11 blade, or a scalpel, & carefully score the seam until it pops loose.
  8. I'm not at liberty to say here.

  9. Censored by the man.

  10. I could not agree more. To me, as far as building models goes, the internet, (& any forums I visit on it), is for reference, research, to get advice &/or information, or to give advice/information. Perhaps that's why I'm not a good fit here. If I want social interaction combined with my hobby, I'll go spend time at my hobby shop, or in the model club I'm a member of. If I wanted online social interaction, I'd join Facebook or some variant. I've never joined Facebook et al because I prefer real life interaction with people as opposed to the artificiality of online. If I want to know how my grown children or my siblings are doing, I'll call or visit them. I don't have the need or desire to plaster every single aspect of my life all over the internet for people I don't know to see. It does seem that many here need that social "fix" that they feel is provided here. Nothing wrong with that, but it would most certainly detract from my bench time, which is more important to me. It seems, (& not based on this forum), that too many people are letting social media replace having a life, & that's not only sad, it's very unhealthy.

  15. Thank goodness for Scale Auto's forum. Much like the magazine it came from, it's far superior to what passes for a forum here.

  17. John basically took the words right out of my mouth. Superb work on such an old & sparsely detailed kit. You more than did it justice.
  18. This place is a joke, full of people that are truly ignorant, & live only to attack others & get by with it.

  21. So, if something that could be considered borderline racist, (at best), is funny, then I presume if I were to refer to you as an inbred, toothless reneck moron who's mother is also his sister, in fact as someone who's family tree not only doesn't fork, but it goes in a continuous circle, that would be a real knee slapper, correct? This forum is totally pathetic & completely out of control, (but then I suspect there's a lot of favoritism shown here), & I have emailed both the publisher & the editor of the magazine informing them of what goes on here, that it puts them & the magazine in a bad light, & that I for one would no longer be buying the magazine, not any of the other magazines from the publisher or otherwise availing myself of any of their services. There's no excuse for most of the actions allowed to go on here on a regular basis, nor does it help the hobby any. It gives the hobby a black eye in fact.
  22. While it is entirely possible that the new Revell 48 Ford kit is larger than 1/25 scale, it is equally as possible that the old IMC kit is smaller than 1/25 scale. Back then many so called 1/25 scale kits were sometimes larger or smaller than the stated scale. The JoHan 1/25 scale variants made to fit a standard sized box with some being scaled larger than 1/25 & some being scalled smaller springs to mind of course, (having recently been discussed in a thread here on JoHan), but so does the old AMT 55 Nomad kit which from all I've heard over the years is actually a good bit smaller than 1/25 scale. Just because the manufacturers claimed back during the hobby's "Golden Age" that their 1/25 scale models did scale out to 1/25 is no guarantee that it's always factual. Given the designs & tolerances used today I'd be more likely to trust today's scales than those of yesterday.
  23. Along with Future, (or whatever name it goes by in the UK, I believe it's called "Johnsons Kleer" there), I've had good results with Design Masters Super Surface Sealer, found here: http://www.dmcolor.com/products/?id=26 Checking their store locator for the UK only shows that it's available there from a wholesaler, & not retail, but here's the link to that page: http://www.dmcolor.c...m&Submit=Submit It seems Smither-Oasis UK Ltd is the wholesaler there for the company. Here's their link: http://sona.oasisfloral.com/Home You might try contacting them to see if you can get it there. I'ved used it for quite a few years with good results, it's an excellent sealer. Good luck.
  24. No need to apologize for posting all the photos!! Great idea, great planning & great execution! I especially like the well weathered old racing decals on the replacement parts, the area of the gas cap, (& the cap itself), & the very realistic look of the passenger's side interior door panel tossed in the trunk. Both are nice examples of subtle details done just right & look very correct & realistic.
  25. As best as I can find out, AMT retooled the 64 Tempest/GTO annual kit into the 65 GTO annual kit, so I doubt we'll see them backdate the 65 GTO to a 64. Since Revell is about to reissue the ex Monogram kit, I'd go with that. It is nicely detailed for the era it was tooled up in, & more accurate than the other alternative from Polar Lights.
