Hey up in Murfreesboro (Near Nashville) we have an IPMS club that meets the first monday of every month. Here is the link.http://www.ipmsmiddletennessee.com/meetings.php Mostly military but there are about 4 or 5 car guys there.Nice club, been going for about two years now.
The way I see it kit bash the 77' GMC Wrecker and this and you have a tow truck.I think I'm going to combine parts from thoses two and use on my 64 chevy stepside.
Even if it's just plastic it still hurts on the inside when a part breaks or a decal sheet is ruined,Or worse a surgery comes out wrong. This however is a risky job well done.
Well I bought 20 this year,I built 5 and am in the mist of two more.I think that's pretty good.
Built kits:
1953 ford pickup with chris craft drag boat
1930 Packard boat tail speedster
1993 Toyota 4runner
Porsche 962 C
WIPS
1993 Ford Ranger
1940 Willis pick-up gasser "Silver Dollar"
My local shop has had their paints on back order since may I have to travel about 45 minutes to find my next suppier of Tamiya paints. And the worst part is the shop 45 minutes away hasn't had one problem with keeping paint in stock ,but I can't even get black from the shop down the road.
Hey man welcome to the fourm,I'm glad that there is someone on here my age now. This is a great place for advice and tips, Also some really nice folks.
Thanks guys, The paint turned out nice and all I have left is coat two.I will post pics of the finished product soon in under the glass,It's a 1993 Ford Ranger splash. It's not what grabs you eye right off the bat,but it is a nice kit.
My local hobby shop has had the little ounce bottle of paint on back order since May so I picked up some spray paint from Tamiya.Any tips or tricks to it?I know that warm water helps spray paint.
Thanks,Austin
Man this is eye candy to me,I own a real Honda trail 70 and love it.I have been searching ebay ruthlessly for one,I wish I had club buddies like yours.
Ok well I got that 1 kit and didn't want to waste my money on another one so I never gave 'em a second chance. One kit they came out with that really looks cool is the little red wagon semi hauler.I'll just have to pick a second one up then.
To me Lindberg kits arn't worth the plastic there made from because of the poor poor quallity of their kits.I got their 3n1 T-bucket and hated it because it needed so much extra work.
Also I think it's funny that Revell made a combo of the two kits that I thought would look good next to each other.Mine will be a little big more unique.
