  1. Awww,I already had out the sketch pad.
  2. OK I thinned it 1:1 and added some copper to it and WOW it pops on the test car,Tomorrow I will spray it on the truck. Thanks for all the tips guys.
  3. Ok,I got a half pint of the color today and some thinner for it.I think it's an acrylic Enamel, should I thin it 1:1 or 1:2?
  4. That woodie is gonna be on the list.
  5. That brings back some good memories,I tried lego stop motion once after about 30 minutes I had 4 seconds recorded. As you can imagine I stopped right after that.
  6. I saw that yesterday,I hope everything is alright.
  7. Well if anyone has a glue bomb dream rod, then send me a PM.Maybe we can work something out.
  8. Looks cool Chuck,I was at a show and some one had a R&M streamline go cart on a revell midget trailer. The only problem was that there would be no way that the cart could go up the ramps because they were to far apart! It was a little detail that I thought was kinda funny. I will start the build as soon as my charger comes in through the mail,I will also update the list soon.
  9. If you mind paying an arm and a leg for it.http://www.seltd.net/ez-catalog/X344897/16/SP-003
  10. I don't care for tuners to much but this is an exception,The craftsmanship is great!
  11. I have called all of the auto paint shops in the area and the smallest amount I can get is 1/2 pint, how big is that and how much does it usually cost?
  12. So how do you airbrush in the back seat? Curiosity's killing me.
  13. Man if AMT or MPC re-released the gangbusters series and redid the tooling for the panel van I thing more people would be happy then with a vampire van.Vampires aren't even thought of as scary or menacing nowadays, just some guy that sparkles in the sun.
  14. They have made lots of tin signs with rosie's diner,I have one on my wall.
  15. Wow,cool history lesson Mark. You guys all need to make a book on the history of some of these model companies and rumors about the tools.
  16. That trailer truck looks like something I'm going to have to do someday.
  17. I picked this model up a few months ago and plan on building a replica of the real one,man I have used so much spot putty to try and fill the cracks on mine.Best of luck with your build.
  18. Ok,so what would I have to do to the tiger shark to make a dream rod out of it because I don't want to drop $100 + on a model where a little elbow grease and some cutting out of a $20 kit will get me similar results.
  19. I am building a replica of my mothers first truck,A 1971 Chevy fleetside.I have the kit but I am having some issues finding a color that matches her truck. The color was a 71' color and it was a bronze copper penny, sadly I don't have any pic's of it on hand.I can't really order paint online so if you know of a dupli-color can or a testors/model master/paint commonly found in a hobby shop color please tell me.I have heard of a company that matches paints colors for model car guys but can't remember the site or name of the company. this looks close to the color. http://www.google.co...27&tx=107&ty=66 http://www.google.com/imgres?start=236&um=1&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1024&bih=677&tbm=isch&tbnid=d3Du3A7Hp2wxBM:&imgrefurl=http://www.bobschevytrucks.com/1971-chevrolet-truck-color-sales-brochure.html&docid=hap_Ms-UmG2sYM&imgurl=http://www.bobschevytrucks.com/images/T/PSB71_big.jpg&w=395&h=500&ei=Yq_DT4iDGoWE8QSJ0924Cw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=784&vpy=240&dur=984&hovh=253&hovw=199&tx=130&ty=116&sig=101282864649978660081&page=16&tbnh=156&tbnw=133&ndsp=16&ved=1t:429,r:15,s:236,i:149
  20. Is the AMT tiger shark dream rod the same as the Car craft dream rod? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item4845069e0c&item=310395706892&nma=true&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&rt=nc&si=wdUW3cmA6f2%252FVCQQAMz65qucNRE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_5609wt_950 http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-38527-TIGER-SHARK-TOY-FAIR-MODEL-CAR-KIT-1-25-NIB-/270650065317?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D5%26pmod%3D180870413800%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8737719375406923858#ht_988wt_814 Is the openings in the front fenders the only difference?
  21. I agree with the sharpie idea,Just two or three passes over the trim and it will look like weather striping.
  22. Chuck,do you have a thing for Corvair engines?Lol.
  23. To me racing was cool way back before I was born in the 50's-70's,I wish I could go back in time and see some of the old races I have read about.I am currently reading a book called "Bolton's best:A collections of Auto racing stories" It's a collection of stories about the golden age of NASCAR from the eyes of a news writer.I have tried to watch modern Nascar and other racing, but I just can't get past how boring it is most of the time. Some guys enjoy it,and I respect it,I just don't care for the new stuff.
  24. This looks amazing.Any idea on the paint colors?
  25. http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/leva_car.html This looks cool,It even "WORKS".
