  1. It should be hitting the shelves around christmas time.
  2. Here is the final art for the Challenger funny car box art and decals. This kit is a re-issue of the old MPC Soapy Sales funny car which probably hasn't seen the light of day since the early 70's. If you're wondering whatever happened to the tooling for the stock 71-72 challenger take a look at the underside of the body when you get your kit. You can see how this kit evolved from there. All in all though this is a pretty nice kit and uses the same chassis found on the recently re-issued Blue Max mustang. The kit also comes with 2 all new decal sheets which I designed as well. They feature grill and tail light graphics to make all the different model Challengers, plus a bunch of names and rare sponsor decals which I thought people could use on this kit or others. At the bottom are pictures of the built box art models. I built the purple one and Tom Miller built the green one.
  3. The Model King has located another great old kit will be available again this fall. It's the Allison v-12 Powered Thunderbird funny car that people have been asking for years and it will come with the original box art and decals.
  4. My experience with tire decals is that they don't stick very well to the rubber tires, so I didn't include them on the sheet. If it was something a lot of people really wanted I could try to include them on the Laguna decal sheet. Any body want to way in here?
  5. Here's mine. There's more pics and a complete write up of the build on my site. Here's a link. http://homepage.mac.com/ssven5/Sites/Svens...glass_page.html
  6. Here's a preview of the Model King 71 Cyclone stock car kit. It's a re-issue of the old MPC tool. The kit will include 2 decal sheets and should hit the shelves sometime in the fall.
  7. I think it was a 77 or 76. Dave was going to do that one but it was going to take too much work to convert it back from the last time it was re-issued as a monter truck. So it has been shelved for now.
  8. Here's the final box art and decals for the Model King 69 Camaro funny car. I was shooting for a vintage '70s feel with this one. I hope you guys like it.
  9. Here's some pics I took of the test shot of the forth coming Model King Torino. As you can see the body has all the accurate NASCAR trim already on the body. The Johan body was molded with all the stock trim. By the way I have one of each and the body proportions are practically identical. In fact you can swap parts back and forth between the two kits and the MPC body will drop right onto the more accurate Johan chassis if you desire. The hood on the MPC kit has the lump from the GT scoop while the Johan kit has a flat hood. My reference pictures from the era show both being accurate depending on the team. Maybe some resin caster will reproduce the Johan hood since it drops right onto the MPC body.
  10. These are the models that were built for the upcoming re-issue of the Funny Hugger II Camaro kit. I built the pearl white one "out of the box" and Larry Henley built the orange one. He added some wheels and parts from a Polar Lights funny car kit and is representative of what you can do with this kit with a little extra work. I am working on the box art now. This kit will probably be released in the fall.
  11. Here's a preview of the art work that I am doing for Model King. This will be the box top
  12. I thought you guys might enjoy seeing the final box art for the Model King '71 T-bird. Tom Miller built the box art models and did the photography. I helped by designing the box layout and decals.
  13. I finished this one up over the holidays. There's more pics and a complete write up on my site. http://homepage.mac.com/ssven5/Sites/Svens...2much_page.html" target=_blank"> http://homepage.mac.com/ssven5/Sites/Svens...2much_page.html
  14. Thanks for the compliments. Your right my website is getting a little long in the tooth by today's standards. It's about 8 years old. I would love to redo it but it's got too much stuff on there now to change it. Maybe some day. The '63 Tempest kit is the same Altered Wheel Base kit that was re-issued a few years ago. Dave just wanted to do a new box for it. This one should end up being pretty rare as there will only be about 1000 made. Here's a picture and a link to more pictures. http://homepage.mac.com/ssven5/Sites/Svens.../63tempest.html
  15. Thanks for the compliment. I don't know if the Dodge has the dirt bike with it or not. I haven't seen a test shot on that yet.
