2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
ZombieHunter26 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
My poor attempts at photo editing, to turn the blank casting of Sasha into Aphrodite (or a similar rendering thereof ) She'll look similar to this, but just a little more scraped up and dirty They need to hurry up on releasing her in 1/25th. -

Thanks Doc! I'll be doing little bits here and there until it's done, still need to weather some parts, fix up some 'pop-offs' that happened during the photo shooting, and make the graphics pop just a little better... Then maybe order the welder chick once she's in 1/25th scale, and modify her to be the "Aphrodite" to +HEPHAESTUS I'm thinking this one's gonna be deserving of a diorama base. But we'll have to see, time allowing of course. -

BURN BABY BURN! I'm thinking of a driver for this one, nicknamed 'Aphrodite'. Y'know, since the actual greek god Hephaestus' consort -was- Aphrodite I'll have to find an appropriate figure for this one! -

+HEPHAESTUS is not done yet, but it's well on it's way. Here's some pics showing the starting of the graphics, and the blood spray from the mowing down of zombie hordes. more past the break... -

Minor pet peeve...
ZombieHunter26 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'll have to agree with you on this one Harry. Many times I've bought a kit that was tooled RECENTLY (like 2000's recent) and the quality of the kit is shoddy at best. I'm lucky to have a manager at my LHS willing to let me take a look at the kit bags before I decide to buy the kit. This has become the norm for my 'purchase' visits to the LHS, unfortunately. One could only hope that the model tooling will improve as time goes by. I hope that this isn't wishful thinking at it's best.... -

I know I promised some pics THIS WEEKEND but things went kind of against me weather wise. Rain all weekend, and sunny during the working days >.< Anywho... here some +HEPHAESTUS primer pics. I've since applied the paint job but haven't taken pics yet. Keep a look out for the next set! -
2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD

The Wrecker is in primer- Unfortunately It wasn't very conducive outside today for some good pictures. I'll just have to post some primer pics tomorrow. I scratchbuilt a high-powered flamethrower, powered by a V12 engine converted to a generator for both electricity and fuel canister pressure. It's all controlled through an 'ECM' of sorts mounted on the back, in order to keep the highly volatile fuel mixtures in check and modulate the appropriate pressure levels during the 'fuel ejection' process. The whole thing is topped off by two refillable canisters, one containing NO2, the other containing a petroleum-based, highly adhesive liquid gel similar to napalm. The purpose is to fry the zombie hordes quickly, at such a high temperature that the zombie's brain will sizzle to a crisp within moments of the flame contacting it's body (to prevent the zombie from just becoming a walking fire hazard). ...I'm still thinking of a name for it. Hephaestus, mayhaps? I don't know. Something to do with a god of fire, but short enough to paint on the side... At any rate, expect some pictures tomorrow. -

I'll be working on my Wrecker build in between making the video for my CBP and taking care of other business this weekend. Expect some progress photos at some juncture. -
I'll be hopefully making a video post sometime this weekend for this CBP. That is, if my health permits. I've been battling a migraine for the past 8 hours, so I hope at some point it clears up before tomorrow. Anway, I'll keep you posted.

Working on a new TZH build. Starting with the base model of a '77 gmc wrecker. It's got a huge platform area on the back, perfect for mounting some heavy stuff! That was my birthday gift to myself -
Thanks fellas. I'm still trying to figure out how to do the other finishing touches, once I get 'em done this will be yet another technical to add to the wall!

wow guys, 4 days and no one's got any opinions?

Very nice work on those Chuck, as with all of your builds! It's good to see I'm not the only one who will fiddle around with random bits until it comes through into something awesome. Keep it coming guys! -

So I promised some photos of some things I've made from scraps, just fidgeting around- Here's my 'C70A Flame Rifle', made from several different scraps from my leftovers box- (the strap is actually Viva brand paper towel cut into a strip and soaked in black wash... Viva is awesome for making scale tarpaulin, straps, seatbelts ) Let's let Sakura from Street Fighter Alpha model it for us! GIMP2.6 Fun! (or, poor man's photoshop!) More stuff to come later. -

Another awesome example! I'll have to say that I didn't expect such interesting and entertaining projects! Keep it going guys, I can see this turning into a very interesting thread. I'll be posting a few knick-knacks I've created in a little while (I need to go eat some lunch first ) -

That is a VERY good example of what I'm talking about. As always, you come through with a perfect visualization of what a little creativity and vision can do for your hobby! -

I'm kind of an unofficial C/H.... Mainly because I built the way I did BEFORE I knew the Doc existed! LOL. But, if we must label me, then I am definitely a rust/crust/gunk/dirt/everything Cranky fan. -
