  1. Don't worry about it. I'll deal with the PMs if they come. BTW, I think someone mentioned a diorama of the building. That would be pretty cool, especially with some dusty period vehicles parked outside, maybe a cop car or two...
  2. For the record, I agree with you! But I can already see the complaint PMs coming my way...
  3. The question was: Should we add an off-topic area? Yes, I love a good debate No, there is no place for it here Doesn't really matter to me one way or the other
  4. All I can do is leave up to you guys to decide what you want. I can't make anyone vote. This whole mess started because several people sent me PMs complaining about off-topic stuff. I figured the fairest way to go would be to have you guys vote on whether the off-topic stuff needs to go or not. Like I said, the majority of people who bothered to vote voted NO off-topic stuff. I'm not a mind reader, so I can't tell you how everyone who didn't vote would have gone... all I can go by is the response that I got. I can't help it if most people didn't vote, that's not my problem. Like I said, personally I don't have any problem with off-topic posts, in fact I like the off-topic stuff! But I was getting too many complaints via PM... and I really don't have time to go through everyone's posts and decide whether or not it's "off-topic" or not. I'm not Judge Judy. So I put it to a vote and the result was no off-topic posts. So first I get people complaining about off-topic posts, now I get people complaining about me trying to enforce what you people yourselves told me you wanted!!!
  5. It's not.
  6. I have no idea what's going on here...
  7. I guess not everyone got the memo... Yes, we had a vote, and the result was that you guys voted NO to off-topic stuff. That was what the majority wanted, so if we're going to be fair here, we have to go with the majority. So no more O.T. posts please...
  8. Doesn't get much better than that! Paint looks flawless, nice sharp, crisp details... especially the window surounds. Outstanding work.
  9. Dude!!! I literally laughed out loud! You da man!
  10. Hey Gregg... get in touch with this guy and let's make it a feature in an upcoming issue! I'd love to see photos of a 12,000 car collection... BTW... never tried Guinness. But I do like my Dos Equis... does that make me the most interesting man in the world?
  11. Deleted what? And why?
  12. Your "local farm equipment dealer?" Where do you live, Hooterville?
  13. Here I am! Final vote: 30-21 Real. I fooled a lot of you, but most of you got it right... it's REAL! Next ROM coming MONDAY!
  14. I guarantee you, 4-5 years from now we'll be able to go to Best Buy and buy an RP printer and software, design our own parts in 3D and literally output custom parts on our workbench. It's going to happen, the only question is how soon. The technology isn't theoretical, it exists. Now it's only a matter of bringing the cost down to consumer levels. Ain't technology cool?
  15. Albert, I can't add much to the Ford engine discussion... but that car in your sig is pretty cool! May I say you have excellent taste in personal motorized transportation...
  16. Not sure what you mean. A '41 Willys has very simple external door hinges... there's no way the door won't clear the fender unless you made the fender waaaaaay wider than stock.
  17. Yep, actually it was Jairus who I first had contact with as far as MCM goes, and it was Jairus who initially hooked me up with Gregg. I'm extremely proud to be a part of MCM, and it's incredibly gratifying to know that you guys are responding positively to the magazine. That reaction makes all the hours spent worth the trouble. Everyone behind the scenes puts a lot of effort into the magazine, far more hours and effort than you can possibly imagine, and each issue is truly a "labor of love" for all the people who are involved in getting the magazine to you guys. And believe me, there is no greater reward than when we hear that you guys like what you're seeing. That is what makes it all worthwhile! Hopefully MCM will continue to grow and prosper for many more years to come, and if it does, well, then we have you readers to thank for that!
  18. Maybe some of the Motorama cars were, I don't know, but all production cars were fiberglass-bodied. Which, of course, makes a die-cast model 'vette with a plastic chassis and a metal body something right out of Jerry Seinfeld's "Bizzarro World"...
  19. Will there be a "senior discount" subscription rate???
  20. I don't think Fiberglass rusts that bad...
  21. i understand the basic physical process involved in rapid prototyping, so the obvious question becomes can this technology ultimately take the place of the traditional injection molding process and be economical in large-scale production (as in mass-production?) How many years do you figure we're away from the point where RP becomes cost-effective in large-scale production?
  22. George, you're 100% right. We had complaints about "off topic" posts, so I put it to a vote and the majority of you (at least the majority of you who bothered to vote) voted NO to this sort of thing. Majority rules, so goodbye to 2012.
  23. 99% of modelers would miss the rubber gasket on the glass... nice touch!
