  1. I don't see a whole lotta talent there. He's famous for being famous, like Paris Hilton. Anybody can take a car and add huge custom wheels and a paint job. There's no design talent whatsoever needed to do that. Show me some original design work he's done, not just taking an existing car and "overhauling" it...
  2. Would I build any Foose models? No. See, I focused!
  3. I guess that would be a perfect color for a MOPAR muscle car from the early 40s...
  4. I know I might be in the minority here, but I am no fan of Foose. So sue me. Seems like all he ever does it slap on a set of huge wheels and a paint job. Big freakin' deal. Who can't do that??? On that 50s era F-series pickup... besides the big wheels, what exactly did he "design"? Who among us couldn't have done the same exact thing? Why is this guy a star???
  5. BTW... the world's best model car magazine is created entirely on a Mac...
  6. It's true what they say... Once you go Mac... you can't go back...
  7. Those Camaro renderings are fantastic! Why didn't GM build that???
  8. I agree. It took "a pair of spherical objects," if you catch my drift, to create and market the Prowler. I applaud any car company that "thinks outside the box" and dares to build something that makes a statement. And remember... the bumpers were due to federal regulation, not to Chrysler styling! Maybe the Prowler wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but it wasn't meant to be. It obviously was NOT intended to appeal to everyone, but I give major props to Chrysler for having the you-know-whats to produce it. And BTW, Clay, that image of a Camaro that you posted... now that is a design for the new Camaro that I could get on board with!
  9. True? Yeah, to you, maybe. Thanks for sharing your opinion. Good thing it's just that.
  10. So Bill... then it's safe to assume you're not a big fan of Sir Mixalot???
  11. I don't see why all automakers don't just standardize this. Put ALL gas caps on the same side of EVERY car. How simple. How logical. It'll never happen...
  12. Sorry... no hable espanol...
  14. Pocher 1/8 scale Rolls Royce 1932 Phantom Sedanca. Here's a photo of a finished one (not mine... mine's still under construction): Here are a few shots of mine, still far from finished: More than 2,500 parts. Operating windows, lights, steering and suspension, brake system from pedal through the operating brake shoes, roll-back top, etc. Not for the squeamish...
  15. Welcome. So... you brought the Molson's and the back bacon, eh?
  16. I would never have attached the model to the base in the first place. I have several large (1/8 scale) models sitting on wooden bases, but they're not attached. But if you really want to attach the model to the base permanently, there are several ways you could go. Epoxy the model to the base with a drop of epoxy at the point where each tire touches the ground. Drill a hole into the chassis somewhere near the front and the back and epoxy a length of aluminum or brass rod into place in each hole, drill corresponding holes in the base and epoxy the rods into the base. Paint the rods flat black and they'll be very hard to see. Drill a small hole in the base right below the front and rear axles, loop some wire around the axles and through the holes in the base and epoxy the wire in place under the base. After the epoxy sets up, snip off the wires flush with the bottom of the base. But like I said, if it was me I'd never attach the model permanently to a base at all.
  17. Whatever it is, it's not a crack!
  18. That Ferrari looks fantastic...
  19. Final vote: 43 REAL, 6 MODEL. To those 6 of you that went against the crowd... you're right! It's a MODEL! (1/5 scale). HA!!! I got you guys really good this time! Next ROM wipeout coming MONDAY!
  20. Impossible to list a favorite... there are so many! Just a few that come to mind: 68-69 Charger 67 GTX 65-66-67 Impala 61 Jaguar E-Type 64-65-66-67 Ford Galaxie 67-68-69 Mustang fastback 68 Corvette Guess I really liked the 60s!
  21. Yes! And on the later series of cards (the ones with photos from the Batman movie), the back of the cards had parts of an image that could be assembled into a giant photo of Batman, Robin or the villains.
