  1. The Prowler was VERY cool! I wish I had the money a few years ago to buy one. Talk about an instant collectible. Boy, do I wish I had one.
  2. Very nice! Sharp and clean is a winner every time. And the shine on that paint is practically flawless. And now, if you don't mind a little "constructive criticism"... when you do panel lines in pure black like you did, in my opinion they are too "obvious" and have a sort of unrealistic appearance. On your next build try this: Color in the panel lines in black, as you did here, but BEFORE the final color coat. If you use an airbrush, thin down the final color coat a bit. If you use a can, spray on just a light coat. Then add your clear (if you use clear). By "burying" the black panel lines under the final color coat, the panel lines will still be dark, but not so stark and harsh. They'll look more realistic. BTW- I read about this technique in a post by zoom zoom (Bob Downie), so credit him with the technique. If you've ever seen one of his models posted here, you'll know how good this looks.
  3. Hey old buddy... Welcome to the "other" forum! Just one request... could you post in a slightly larger font? What you used here might be kind of hard for some to read. (I'm just looking out for the old guys like George! )
  4. Photoshop is made by Adobe. http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/
  5. Back when the original kit was issued my friends and I all bought one. We thought is was WAY cool. And it cost less than a buck! My Batmobile model is LONG gone... but I actually still have complete sets of several series of Batman bubblegum cards from the mid-late 60s. Wonder what those are worth today?
  6. Photoshop. If you know a few tricks and techniques, you can do anything in Photoshop...
  7. I agree with Bill 1,000%! The concept Charger is the car they should have made. In fact, when I saw the concept version a few years ago for the first time, I decided right then that that was going to be my next car. But instead, they came out with a blocky, frumpy "Charger." What a letdown!
  8. The Mustang and Challenger look a LOT like their 60s-70s versions, the new Camaro not so much. I think they were "inspired" by the 60s design, but came up with a new design that's only loosely based on the old Camaros. Personally, I think they should have gone with the whole "retro" look. I especially don't like the front end design. Here's what the new Camaro would look like if I was in charge:
  9. I agree! I never liked the "new" Charger... it doesn't look like a Charger! This one is way better, but given Chrysler's current situation, I wouldn't hold my breath...
  10. Just a guess, but I don't think you'd see much salt buildup at all. At most maybe a subtle coating of white dust. And I'm sure that after every run the car would be wiped clean before it made another run. Since the wheels are totally enclosed, you're not going to see much "weathering" on this at all.
  11. Another way to accomplish this effect is to use aluminum duct-sealing tape, available at any home improvement store. It looks like BMF but it's much thicker and will stand up to the process. You can chuck a round pencil eraser (the gray "ink eraser" type) into a Dremel tool and use the eraser to create the swirls. Possible problems: The diameter of the pencil eraser creates swirls that are a bit too large for 1/24-25 scale (but works well for 1/8!), keeping all the swirls uniform, and perfectly evenly spaced both horizontally and vertically. This will only work on a flat dash... the tape won't do so well on compound curves. And this is a fairly labor and time-intensive process. It can be done, but it's not easy or quick.
  12. I got it Saturday, too. And BTW...I always get to see every issue way before anyone else does. Months ahead of time, in fact...
  13. Uh...discount engagement rings? "Bra accessories"????? What's the deal here?
  14. I had the same exact experience. I was told that the foil not sticking was MY fault, that I was applying it incorrectly, blah blah blah. And yet, even though there was "nothing wrong" with the old BMF, for some reason they've changed it. Hmmmm....
  15. What? You've been two-timin' us???
  16. Now that's different! I wonder how long before that blown powerplant snaps those drive chains like a couple of rubber bands?
  17. Same here. The ultra-shiny and clean wheels and tires look a little out of place... like the guy always washed and waxed the wheels but never touched the rest of the truck! But great work on the weathering.
  18. I have to "ditto" what everyone said. Great attention to detail, super clean, and I love that color! You get a "10" for this one!
  19. One of the best looking big Fords ever. Very nice model, and great pictures too! That's what its all about!!!
  20. Hey George... didja notice how early I had this one posted???
  21. You're saying... what this time???
  22. How about this? Real or model? The answer: MODEL!
