  1. Wow!!!! What a model. Amazing work.
  2. I'd like to try foiling my next project with regular old kitchen foil, as an alternative to BMF. I know a lot of you guys get great results with this technique, but I have a question. What's the best adhesive to use? I saw some "Alene's Tacky Glue" at Hobby Lobby. Would that work as a good foil adhesive? I'm concerned with long-term adhesion and easy cleanup of any adhesive that gets on painted surfaces.
  3. What's the source of your parts? I've never seen a 1/8 Anglia kit before.
  4. Very nice! Your color choices suit the car perfectly. It looks great.
  5. You think your gas is high? You should see the price in the Chicago area. We have the dubious distinction of being blessed with the highest ga$$$ prices in the country. And that's why I shop online.
  6. I'm thinking of bringing "Styling Snafus" over...probably to the "Auto Art" section. Just a heads-up for any of you that are familiar with it and wondered if it would surface again. It was incredibly popular at its last home...so I'm thinking it might go over well here. And as always, contributions from everyone will always be welcomed!
  7. You can make new glass with clear acetate and scribe the defroster lines with an exacto.
  8. Your craftsmanship is absolutely perfect. I've never seen a cleaner, more precise building style. And your English is far better then my German!
  9. I like the idea of a Charger that actually looks like a Charger! You're doing something similar to my restyled Charger:
  10. Good thing it wasn't the index finger that fell off!
  11. I've just finished reading chapter 26...think I'll rest now and get back to it later...
  12. That turned out nice. I started one a long time ago, got as far as finishing the chassis and then put it away. I just got tired of this kit. Maybe it's all those tiny chrome-plated pieces that needed all that scraping and fussing with...it's sort of an annoying kit to me, for some reason. But yours looks great!
  13. ok...just so nobody thinks I'm nuts...several of those were just done for laughs. The Studebang, the Cadivette, the Tranbant tuner, etc. were just me goofing off. But I actually do like the 300, and the "horizontal lights" GTO is kind of nice.
  14. That chain detail looks great. Amazing how a little properly applied paint detailing can be so effective.
  15. Hi, I'm Harry...and I'm an alcoholic. Oooops, wrong room! But seriously folks...I grew up in Chicago, and have been building models since the 60s... stopped for about 20 years while I did the wife and kids routine, and got back into it about 10 years ago. My "real job" is a graphic designer/artist/illustrator. Three kids (3 adults, actually...23, 21 and 18), a cranky ex-wife, a 67 Impala convertible and a house out in suburban Chicago. Next, please...
  16. What if the Beach Boys were English? What if the New Beetle was a little more like the old one? What if a Corvette had a "Luxury Decor package" option... And what would a tuner from the Communist bloc have looked like in 1968? ok...I'll take my medication now...
  17. How are you doing your dashboard gauges/radio face detailing? Dry brush or decals?
  18. Beautiful work. That would fool a lot of people in a "Real or Model" quiz...
  19. There's one word for your work: Unglaublich!
  20. I'd have to agree with the votes for the Sony Cybershot. It's small, yet has a huge viewing screen, Zeiss optics, 7mp, (or is it 8?), zoom, macro, the whole ball of wax, for less than $250 (bought online from some electronics place in NYC). As far as image stabilization...I call it a tripod!
  21. Very clever. I love simple yet effective scratchbuilding ideas like that.
  22. Very impressive work all around. The extras you added really kick things up a few notches....I especially like the authentic looking trunk mat. That's a seldom-seen detail. A big "thumbs up" on this one!
  23. What would a Magnum have looked like...in 1968??? What if a Studebaker and a Mustang had a baby??? Oy, vey...
  24. For instance...what if the Impala had gone to horizontal taillights a few years earlier? What if the mid-sixties GTO had horizontal headlights... What if the new 300 had a more "heritage" look? Just a few of the ideas rolling around in my head...
