  1. I've been following this one all along... Virgil, I'm familiar with your work, so I'm not surprised at how this turned out. Perfect! Another masterpiece!
  2. Yes, it's 1/8 and yes, all Pochers are 1/8. Thanks, everyone!
  3. Ya gotta love Photoshop!!!
  4. Yeah, I know about this guy. There's no way possible to say this and not sound bigheaded...but I agree with you...mine IS more realistic. But it's not for sale.
  5. Skip, you'll be glad to know that I painted the Jag yesterday. Clearcoat later today (probably after the kids finish ringing the doorbell this evening). It's back in production!!!
  6. Lots of progress since my last post...in fact, it's done!
  7. Very impressive. Your work is always so incredibly clean...it looks like you shrink yourself down to 1/25 size and then build the model!
  8. Ummmmmmm....that's Larry Fine, Moe and Curly Howard. nyuk nyuk nyuk...
  9. Very nice work so far. Your changes are right on the money...in fact, it's looking a lot like one I did a while ago: Seems like just about everyone has redesigned the new Charger. I think Dodge really missed the mark on this one. I agree, a good idea would have been to call the 4-door a "Coronet", and make the "Charger" the 2-door coupe. Oh well...Chrysler obviously didn't ask for my opinion before they started...

  11. What do you think? The answer: MODEL!
  12. The red looks jagged because the photos in your post are not displaying at 100%, and the resolution of the monitor screen is displaying the thin red lines jaggedly. If you click on the photo and look at it full size, the red is perfectly straight.
  13. Where are you getting those interior bits and pieces from...like the air freshener? Are you photo-reducing scans, or are those aftermarkets items?
  14. The tip about aligning the door hinges is very important. If anything is out of alignment the doors won't work. Here's what I did: I drilled out the hinge arms to accept a straight pin. Then I taped the door panel in place, and carefully glued the hinge arms into their respective slots in the door and body. Before the glue dried I simply slipped a straight pin into the upper and lower hinge, which assured that the hinges would dry in perfect alignment. After everything was painted, I used the same pins as the final hinge pins (just snipped them off at the correct length and dropped them into the hole).
  15. And a pack of Marlboros...
  16. That's the Danbury Mint diecast Chevy. It's incredible...operating top, all lights work (even turn signals and hi-beams!), windows crank up and down, etc., etc., etc. The whole ball of wax.
  17. I had the exact same problem...the entire sheet was full of those little cracks, and it was impossible to take a big piece of foil off the sheet because it all fell apart. I bought my sheet at a large LHS, so if the problem was that the sheet was old, maybe BMF should print expiration dates on the package, like food products have. Otherwise how is the customer supposed to know if the foil is old and cracked until he gets home and opens the package? I called BMF and they told me they are looking at various combinations of adhesive/backing papers (apparently they're aware of the problems). They told me to mail them the bad sheet and they would replace it with a new sheet, which they did.
  18. Sorry guys...no ROM this week. There's been a death in the family and I've been busy with wakes and funerals and things like that. ROM will be back Monday.
  19. Quite a thorough investigation...unfortunately it's WRONG! It's REAL! All I did was blur the foreground a bit. Original: Thanks to Izzy (Ismael G.) for the photo. Next ROM MONDAY!
  20. I was going to ask if you ever built any models of your designs...and now I see that you do. Very cool!
  21. I didn't say anything, but I agree on the proportion problem...the huge rear wheel that would never work was the very first thing that I noticed.... I realize that this is only a drawing, but for some reason my eye went to the much too-big tire even before I noticed the graphics. Just a thought to keep in mind...
  22. It's very easy to put a guy in the background. Not saying I did that, but it's very easy...
  23. Ya gotta love free samples!
  24. Sort of like the "eating out of restaurant dumpsters" philosophy!
  25. More progress. And Jairus...please notice that the shackles are now painted red...they're not brass anymore, now they're "steel"! I used the same walnut stain on the leather belts that I used on the floorboards. The belts were too light, and the stain brought out the grain of the leather. The fuel lines are pre-formed, but in the grand Pocher tradition of poor engineering they didn't fit...so a lot of re-bending on my part to get them to go where they're supposed to go! The kit has the hand operated fuel pressure pump attaching to the side of the seat, which is wrong. It should be attached to the side of the cowl, which meant the line to it had to be scratchbuilt, because the kit piece ends at the side of the seat. Also, I used short lengths of K&S brass tubing to scratchbuild the "T" coupling. The kit doesn't have any outer seat shells, so I made them out of thin sheet styrene and painted them red. You can also see how my balsa floor and dash look when installed. I still have to remove the front spring shackles and paint them red, per Jairus' instructions!
