That's some pretty impressive airbrushing!

With the prices HEMI-powered MOPARS are bringing these days, I doubt there'd be many of them sitting in someone's barn anymore...and a low buck, HEMI-powered rat rod is a little far-fetched in the "real world", but the beauty of model cars is that the real world doesn't matter! I agree with Jantrix...you should build it! It might possibly be the first of its kind!

So did the metal and plastic bodies come from the very same mold? The parting lines on both the metal and plastic bodies seem to be in exactly the same places.

You guys got this one right. Well, MOST of you did. It's a model! Next ROM coming MONDAY!

Here are a few in-progress shots. No clear coat on the paint yet (Duplicolor Chrysler color). This is a very tiny model. It's 1/24, but seems smaller.

I'm no kit historian-not by a long shot, so I have no comments on the origins or evolution of this kit. It does have a noticeable mold separation line running along the body sides, but that's easily sanded smooth. And the fact that it's missing the wipers is a bit odd, considering the rest of the model is very nicely done...right down to the seperately-molded chrome dashboard grab handle. The hood needs a little trimming along its rear edge in order to get it to seat correctly, but again, a very simple fix. Other than that, everything goes together perfectly. It's a real gem of a kit. If any of you are into vintage sportscars, get yourself one of these kits...you'll love it!

I'm building this kit at the moment...just painted the body yesterday. I'll post pix soon. The missing windshield wipers are the biggest problem. And why in the world is the body molded in gray plastic, but the hood and fender skirts are molded in a very pale mint green???

For a factory look, I love Duplicolor paint with Tamiya clear. The results are just about perfect straight from the cans.

I was looking through some old art of mine and came across these...done in 1985 with Razorpoint marker, Prismacolor markers and colored pencils. It's been so long since I've actually drawn on paper (instead of "drawing" with a mouse on a screen) that I wonder if I still could do it!

How about a "Modeler of the Month" centerfold? Hey, if Burt Reynolds can do it...

I pitched this very idea quite a while ago to the "other" magazine. They felt that readers wanted models, more models and nothing but models in the magazine...no "reading material". It will be interesting to see how the idea is received here.

This is a Skill Level 3???? Geez, from the pix of the parts trees Gregg posted there's not a whole lot to it. Why in the world would this be a level 3 kit?

Why not just shoot it at an angle that doesn't show the top of the roof? That way, like Barney Fife, you take the issue and "nip it in the bud"...
