  1. Right. And the new ones/replicas don't have to meet safety standards (but they do have to meet emissions standards). So buyer beware.
  2. I'm one of those shoppers who actually reads labels. I can attest to the fact that product sizes are shrinking. It's the dirty little secret of food producers/manufacturers. A one-pound can of coffee is now 14-15 ounces. Same size can... just less coffee in it. They do this to almost all packaged foods.
  3. Oil is a worldwide commodity, price is set internationally, so buyers all pay about the same price per barrel. Unless you're one of the major producers of oil, in which case it's dirt cheap. I've never heard that China has any significant oil reserves, so I assume they pay about the same for it as we do.
  4. DeLorean is going to start production again! http://www.foxsports.com/motor/story/cars-delorean-back-to-the-future-coming-back-013016
  5. Nobody can predict where oil prices will go. It's such a complex equation... supply and demand, middle east conflicts, countries ramping up or slowing down production, and the ultimate wild card... emotion. There is no real logic to oil prices, because if there was, the price wouldn't go from $110 a barrel a year ago to $30 a barrel today. It's all speculation, emotion, and a guessing game. Just like the stock market. A huge financial behemoth built on... nothing.
  6. Are you serious? Once a manufacturer has his customers used to a certain price, you actually think they would reduce the price when their costs go down? No way! They just make more profit.
  7. You guys up there are getting screwed.
  8. On the sides, the words "Fabulous Hudson Hornet" cross over the door panel lines!
  9. Yep, they did a lot of '30s-era MBs. Now I'm looking forward to a modern MB from them.
  10. So far Pocher (the original and the "re-born" company) have issued kits of only European cars. On the off chance that someone at the new Pocher sees this... hey guys, how about a Duesenberg? A Cord? A Pierce-Arrow? Or... dare I ask... a Superbird or Daytona?
  11. Bill... I have the Porsche. No problem with the plastic body. The problem with that kit was the engine, which looked like a blob of plastic. I had to rebuild/scratchbuild the whole dang thing. To this day I still don't know how Pocher could engineer such a completely useless engine.
  12. I am so getting one of these. I'm probably the happiest guy on the planet knowing that Pocher is back!
  13. Good idea to ditch the "Revellion" thing, which is nothing but a cartoon car.
  14. Geez, Cliff... you make the rest of us look like hacks! Nothing to add, the guys have already said it all.
  15. Right you are. My post was specifically in reply to your comments regarding the "human element."
  16. That's a beauty!
  17. How do the Amish put up with crazy laws like that?
  18. Oh no! Not Schneider too!!! I didn't hear about that one.
  19. Jean Stapleton died years ago. Abe Vigoda is covered in the Dead Fish topic...
